Flow is flow. If the reason people are "letting off" at a particular RPM is flow on one application, then it is the same on all applications.
You are showing a fundamental lack of understanding of how all FI systems work, so trying to make drivability assumptions based on the torque curve of a dyno plot is not something you should engage in until you at least understand the basics.
Don't feel bad - 97% of the people that contribute in this thread and elsewhere on this forum are even more clueless.
Then you must live under a rock.

I am just looking at the idea that I can safely run my car to 9200 rpms right now without fear destroying my motor, and with the SC it looks as though the same is still possible. I don't think anyone would run their turbo'd Renesis that high.
I'm just gathering facts and weighing things out. I may actually just do a proactive rebuild and then turbo my car. It's all still up in the air.
In this dyno Pettit stopped at 8800 but it doesn't look as though it would have made a catastrophic difference if they ran it to 9200.

Just got back from a nice country twisty road drive with my reliable Superchaged RX8. Radio off and listening to blower whine from time to time.
You guys still debating/bitching about SC vs Turbo?
Well time to go and do something more amusing like cleaning the bugs off my windshield.

I didn't want this all to turn into a big debate over which is better. I was just trying to figure out which would be less of a strain on a stock motor for a novice Rotary guy that can't rebuild a motor in his spare time.

I just scanned thru your thread thinking you were a Big Turbo Bad *** RX8 owner like some others out there that do really put their SC/Turbo RX8s to the test (AutoX, Road Racing, Drag Racing).
And all I got was a dyno chart with a best 302 whp...............

Saturday I was at the dyno again and made 316 before 6k rpm on 12psi. For some reason it was running way leaner on the dyno than the street so I couldnt get any full pulls. I'm teaching myself to tune so its a work in progress
And as far as tracking the car. Once its done..... without question. My last car (Built/Procharged C5 vette 660rwhp) spent many a weekend at bradenton. This car will be no different, after I'm done using it for my tuning experimentations

I would like to be able to take my car on a 900 mile road trip if necessary. I've already driven from FL to KY, FL to WV, and WV to northern IN, and have always enjoyed the ride. 2 out f 3 of those trips were made in the snow, which just added to the fun.

I drive 300 - 500 miles every other month to Cali, NM and Vegas. It's not unusual for me to drive up to NV or out to Cali or NM for a track event.
I've driven it clear across the country and back 3 times and from Miami to Montreal and D.C. to Niagara or Mt. Washington in NH a dozen times.
It has never broken down and stranded me. Ever.

I've got over 130,000 miles on my chassis and more than 100k of those miles have been FI.

Let me know when go get to drive to the end of your ego and back. That my friend is going to be a hell of a trip.

Ah, too much fun already.
I got to go get ready for “work” and spend your grateful taxpayer dollars. I wonder what should I do today at work.
Oh, I know!!! I need to work on my FarmVille farm. Those pesky Snails are a it again.

Aaaaaaaand this is why a lot of folks wish this thread had been left dead in never never land. At least the annoying "dicks" threads that you had to wade through were generally in subforums with less interest and traffic.
I dont disagree with those who felt there is some usefull info in here, but that only consists of about 10 of these 300 ******* pages*. the rest is this kind of BS and the fanboy/owners lounge
*its also notable to point out that like many other parts of the forum, the MISinformation in this thread far outweighs the useful
