I asked in the fuel pump thread, but as I'm hitting 50k miles, and with my new "hi flow" set up of Pettit engine, pettit hi flow cat and exhaust, do you think I should just swap in a new OEM pump? It might not be an upgrade, but a new one wont be worn out.

I know the 09 needs tweaking to make work, but is it very easy to do? And how much better is it really than stock series1 one? How long does it take to mod if you are a good mechanic?

I changed mine two years ago from original 2004 to another original OEM (original part in 2004 was N3H1-13-35ZA and current part number updated to N3H1-13-35ZG).

Never had an issue with it no matter how hard I drive the car on the track and going down to 1/4 tank of gas. I run a fuel pressure gauge and pressure never drops below 61psi with a normal reading of 62~64psi while cruising. Big pulley, RB from header to muffler, no cat and 2009 P1/P2 (P2/AUX) injectors.

I think an OEM swap might be an easy option then, as I dont really have time for modding stuff, as we're so busy here.....

I'm putting the high flow cat back on the car so I am also reinstalling the secondary air pump / control valve. Which hose on the vacuum chamber goes to the secondary air control valve???

Had a great track day at a new venue in the UK:

The place is called Blyton Park, and its an old yank bomber base from WWII.
A real car enthusiast has recently renovated it, and laid fresh tarmac into the old tarmac of the runways, t make an entertaining track day circuit (its only for track days, not racing)

Car went very well, and I am now focussing on cooling etc so I can bash in more laps without getting paranoid about overheating etc.....

Also will add some cool pics from Xteme photo here too:

Now where were we?

Ah yes!

One of my faves:

mmm fat rear wheels AND Apex cone clipping!

Finally: Fresh targets!

Also I managed to get another 3 generation special!

I'm seeing almost 8 psi at 4k before I start running out of fuel. Id say its due to the ported blower and the reduction of volume in my system. I'm getting started on my injector swap today so I shouldn't have lack of fuel issues by this evening. No more short shifting at 4k yey.

8PSI at 4K?

Are you under driven, I make 8PSI at about 2.5 to 3K rpm...

I have the 5 inch bottom pulley and a 2.5 inch top pulley.

I have the low power pully on. If I remeber correctly the low power pully only makes 6 psi at 4k. The blower is ported so I guess that's why I'm making more boost and like I said I have a lot less volume in the system also.

i do like the design around the a/w intercooler.
I run the lower boost pulley and i get 7lbs at 3.5K BUT what grams/sec of flow is happening?
that additional lb you are seeing may be from the mods you have done?

Pre blower w/m will give you about an additional pound? I stopped injecting pre blower due to findings of a gummed up intercooler. I think the w/m vapor just has to make to many turns? I had my pre blower injector about 10 inches from the TB.
I have thought about replacing my injector to the back side ( after the 1st turn) of the s/c air intake, but I havent done that yet.

Is everyone still running Cam's tune? How many are and how many have tuned with someone else? WHo? I wonder what the differences are?
Presently I am searching. Cam of course has offered to do a remote tune for me.
I think i rather have a live/hands on tune?

but does work well?

Yall Pettit has the new AEM high power ignition coils. Less expensive than the ls2's/yukons/msd's AND only require 3ms of dwell. RX7 guys have been running this coil for a little while but AEM just picked it up and rebadged it.
I am looking at it hard.
Team8 started a thread in the Tech section about it.

Just went to Rotorstock in the UK yesterday, good fun, and gave the car a quick go on the sprint course. Also a friend lent me his PZ for a go round the sprint track and I had forgotten how good an NA RX8 can be on a sprint track... it was great fun....

Well, fittings in tight places, 8 oil lines, all while bent over. Not a big deal but a pain in the *** nonetheless.

By the way, my next plan is to relocate the battery to the rear.....mainly for temp reasons...

Has anyone done this and was there a noticeable improvement in cooling the engine bay, ie water temps / oil temps.

I figure it will give much better air flow pas the radiator and them over the engine and manifolds

Just went to the British Touring Cars championship round at Knockhill up in Scotland on Sunday. It was a great day, meeting with some local RX8 crew, but even better was the drive home to the inlaws, up opposite the Queens house in Balmoral.

Damn.... I think it was the most fun drive I have ever had in my car over 8 years...truly incredible.
What a road and what a car. I was completely pumped when I got back, and felt overjoyed..... WOOT!

Just look for the glenshee road on googlemaps to see how awesome just the valley is, and thats only a little bit of the route.....

glad you made it up to my local track. i miss going to knockhill it was a great place to hang out. I used to drive these roads in the highlands everyday for work and now i live in boring toronto Canada where the roads suck, no fun. Drove the dragon at DGR2011 and it reminded me of home. Glad you had fun.
