Just kidding guys.
I have too much time on my hands . I did the most stupid thing today.......
I refurbished a toilet seat.
I did add a "zoom-Zoom sticker on the lid....
on a more serious side--how are the housings prepped during a rebuild? Are they "honed" in anyway?

Dudes im coming back slowly. I've been so busy lately with work. I'm hoping to have the SC installed for DGRR13. Going to debut it on my car there. Don't be surprised if some of you get a PM with some Questions.
damn this is a fickle engine.
Why--because the damn thing has a mind of it's own--i guess.
If I didnt have pyrobovinavphobia I would leave in a field of burning cows.
Keep an eye on them gents...
I just happened to look close using cobb logs--I find for periods of about 1 sec i can get lean spikes at two different spots of the rpm band. Maf voltage is ok etc--everything to me points toward a inconsistant injector/s????
Like it used to be: a/f. rpm--- at wot
11.61 5783
11.32 5767
11.17 5840
11.17 5916
11.17 5954
11.17 6006
11.17 6054
11.17 6114
11.17 6158
11.17 6219
11.17 6259
11.17 6330
11.17 6357
11.17 6451
and this continued to 9K
Now I can get a/f's up to the low 13's and low/high 12's then it goes down to the 11's as it should.
Looks like this:
13.38 5185
13.23 5303
13.08 5449
13.08 5532
12.94 5610
12.79 5719
12.35 5867
12.05 5988
11.76 6045
11.61 6142
11.47 6238
11.47 6268
11.47 6348
11.47 6447
11.61 6549
11.47 6690
11.76 6844
12.35 6894
12.64 6963
12.49 7061
12.49 7160
12.49 7302
12.49 7419
12.35 7472
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
Needless to say--no more heavy throttle for me!
I mean--damn! I only have about 10K miles on the balanced injectors I installed?
I have a new front o2 sensor, maf voltage is smooth, injector duty cycle not changing unexpectively during these times, injector pulse as expected, system voltage is good--i mean WTF?
It gets tiring.

Harlan--yes that is true. I did do the lead spark plug change after the tune. I also added a set of custom headers-----but i never thought that would make that much difference? I never had a cat with either system.
Something is happening---i dont have a vacuum leak and besides that I see regular boost numbers during this times. In open loop it behaves as usual--no problem. But closed loop this shows.
But just to be sure I will remove the modified lead plugs and do a very short run in 2nd gear to check. If that is the cause--wouldnt that be VERY interesting?
hey Dan--thanks for coming in---I have an innovate lc1 system and my real a/f's in relation to those 11.1's is around 10.9. I wanted a very conservative tune. The Cobb logs were just easier to access and post.
This car is madding at times.

I would if they were done. I redirected my efforts to get the mass production setup. I decided to put my own car on the back burner to do so. No dragon for me this year. But when all is said and done this is going to be the best kit you can get.
na --not the boost a spark. Dont think that would be an issue.
But getting the lead sparkplug spark closer to the actual combustion chamber can have the same affect as advancing the timing. Increasing Ignition Timing generally increases the fuel consumption at that load point...WHICH, will require more fuel to sustain a given AFR. That's why when you are tuning, you tune the AFR, tune the timing...then yu have to go back and touch up the AFR Curve again.
I do need more fuel at those points.
If this is a result of just moving the plug closer---then WOW.
The bad----it is steady rain today and I cant do any testing at all. Sigh--I will have to wait.
But I do suspect it is a malfunctioning fuel injector not the lead plug mod.
It is suspicious that it is repeatable in the exact spots though.
I agree that uncapped injectors may be part of the problem. I am looking for S2 injectors now.
The I guess I will have to retune....even though total flow will only increase about 200ccs over what I have. I hate this staged injector set up--understand it has to be that way--just still hate it.
I guess everyone needs to keep an eye on their engines from time to time. Things obvious change and you dont have a cue that it is happening.

hey guys, i have a quick question. how often is it that someone in this forum puts their Sc up for sale? I have a high desire to put a Sc in my 8 but i dont wanna go so steep as 6K. and i wanna stay away from turbos. just curious.
thanks a lot.

Rare, and when they do they sell in a day or two and still aren't relatively cheap, haven't seen one up in a couple of months
As with any forced induction ... if you have a strict budget ... its best to stay away
