I am willing to pay for something that is worth it but I think a stand alone is going to far for my car.I don't have FI so I think it would be overkill to get somethinhg like the Intercepter.I have CAI w/ram air duct,H/F cat,UR pulleys,H/D clutch and Lightened flywheel.With these mods I think a piggy back is all I need.Swoope I am willing to spend but only if it demands it.

I was troubled by the same thing, After all the research I went with the E-manage.
I ran a performance for years and found Greddy products to be very reliable. Here is why I choose E-manage:
Price for a used one is great.
Greddy is a major brand.
Lot of people run them without major issues
Laptop tunable
No cutting the facotory wires(harness plugs in)
If I decide to ever get rid of the RX8, change harness and I can use it in the next car.
just my reasons, All though I have found the "tuning" to be time consuming. I am still tring to understand everything.

^^ CZ is even easier......It has the ignition wired up correctly already.
You could pick up a used E-manage from a turbo kit...and wire the injectors into the harness and rewire/reconfigure the rest and it would work well too.
If you are not electrically inclined ( soldering/reading/understanding circuits etc) don't touch this without asking for a lot of help !!!!

Aye 10kRPMS what kinda mods do u have.I want to tune my car with a posiible piggy back system with only bolt on mods.With what I presently have I'm getting back fire.I'm told I need some tuning to get rid of it.I have the usual CAI w/ram air duct,UR pulleys,high flow cat,and soon to be added ACT HD clutch w ACT Streetlite flywheel with the AFE SS.

here is what i think. what works is the intercepter. i have driven my car na with a rb intake and duct. resonated mid pipe, corksport cat back. and the intercepter. it was amazing...
if you search you will find a long thread about it. it gain 11 hp on top, but like 22 to 25 hp in the midrange.
my car was the test mule for scott at mazsport. the product works right out of the box, and the tuning software is user friendly.
and the support is first rate...
the canzoomer and emanage i cannot say the same for. it is buy and learn. which i dont think you are willing to do or you would have found the other threads that talk about this.
is the intercepter worth 1500 bucks, only you can make that choice.
i am willing to help, but only you can make up your mind.

Swoope I'm pretty sure the Intercepter is good. Your conviction on the matter has almost convinced me.I am not doubting you at all or the product..Once again I just don't want to spend that kinda money for a single mod.I haven't spent more than 500.00 dollars for a single mod and that includes the installation.I'll admit the clutch and flywheel and its installation will be the costliest mod which will take me above the 500.00 dollar mark.But, that whole job is kinda justified for what it does for the car and its installation.I am about to buy a header but I am trying to have patience and wait for the Racingbeat.Having written about Racingbeat, I realize the CAI set up from Racingbeat did cost over 500.00 with the install.It also reminds me that they may produce a ECU solution as well.I know that if you wait around something will come out that is better than what is already offered.With all this written,danobre has answered it according to my concerns.As a piggy back set up the Canzoomer or Greedy which are one and the same is what I'm looking to buy.I'll pay someone to install it for me.I was also hoping for other piggy back options around the range of the Canzoomer.

the prolite flywheel is going to be your best mod... the headers are giving little.
now if you are planning to go fi all the rules change.
this is what i am waiting for.

I will not go FI.I actually went with the Streetlite.I haven't installed it yet.In about a week.I'm having the AFE SS installed on Tuesday.A little off the subject.

I'd love an Apexi product for these but obviously the Interceptor is the best product out there now in my opinion because it can still be used if one day you think of FI. Coz believe me when you spend so much on N/A mods and get nowhere, you either sell the car or go FI. I've seen too many people end up doing either.

I think you end up selling your car when u go FI because of the headaches.I've heard of too many blown engines and people just being dissapointed by the things going wrong.I don't want to be married to a mechanic to keep my car running.

Swoope I know that I can install the AFE SS.Time for me is a comodity I don't have.I work a great deal and my time off I like spending doing other things.I have my car worked on while I'm at work.As for the Magnaflow,it is rather loud.I have a S&R high flow cat which definitely adds to the sound.I was thinking of getting an exhaust with less sound to it and add a resonator to the h/f cat to help out on the noise.I'm not concerned about u coming down on me.You didn't know what I was planning or what my priorities are so no harm done.

also FI makes the 8 that much worst of a daily driver... mpg would be in the 10's. hahaha. And I'm preparing to get flamed for this by guys who will point out that one can stay out of boost and such but, who the hell would wanna shift at 2-3k all friggin day and cruise at 60mph just to stay out of boost.
