in the end i will have two 380cc's in the P1 position and i will have four 1000cc injectors in the P2 and Secondary position. Thats my plan at this point anyway. Thinking a bosch 044 pump should be good to get enough fuel to the front of the car.

Don't forget about all of your fuel lines and fittings.

Just to chime in, Precisions billet turbos are the latest and greatest. There is a decent amount of evidence that a properly designed and applied billet turbo will have a larger efficiency range and faster spool than a comparable non-billet wheeled turbo.

I'm skeptical at best of the sound performance actuator...

Lucky, everyone is right, you should most definitely go with a boost controller even if you don't plan on flogging the car. You WILL spool considerably faster and I guarantee the car will be even more fun to drive. You've barely scratched the surface of what the 6265 will do.

Phish, remember, the safety a setup is only as good as the safety of a tune. Turbos don't make engines blow, shitty tunes and poor setup do

With a conservative tune, E85 and 15 PSI you will almost assuredly be safe as long as you are well tuned. The lower EGTs, higher octane and cooling properties of E85 are nigh-on miraculous. Now if we only had it in MD...

I have been looking at fuel lines and fittings all day trying to figure out what i want to do. I am unsure if a single bosch pump will be enough to flow enough E85. I am thinking of jsut gettin an a1000 and calling it good. Figured i woudl run -8line up to the engine bay then "T" it off to -6 to the rails and back to an aeromotive FPR. Then to the factory feed line for a return.

Final tuning will most likely be done by Steve Kan. I have been talkting to him about the E85 setup for quite awhile and he is the one who built the motor. I know everyone has thier opinions but i am quite confient with his skills and experience to give me a great tune.

Boost controller will be my next summer project. Driving in 6th gear around 75 mph and roll on throttle got me to 100 pretty quickly this morn. I didn't know I was going that fast until I look at the speedometer! The weather is around 50 degree this morn and the car just loving it. AFR was hoving around 11.5-11.8. It is perfect AFR but I think it is a litte lean considering I am running methanal also. This turbo just goes and goes. I don't think I will run the engine higher than 12 psi. in the future. 9psi is plenty quick already. It is sad that winter is already knocking on the door and pretty soon I have to park the car for the winter again. Hopefully I will have a chance to do some long road trip to see fall color before it snows.

yeah, it kinda annoys me that i jsut got the motor back in the car and now its getting cold again so i wont be able to actually get out and enjoy it. But winter is always project time and that means a quicker more reliable car for me.

Sounds like your pretty happy with yoru setup and you shuold be, its a very nice one indeed. Car shoudl be a blast to drive and jsut play around it. I still want to see some numbers on it when ever you get it tuned. Curious on what a dyno chart loks like :-)

Photo of the new precision 6265 billet turbo. I did some heatshielding for the ECU box next to the turbo and it tremendously help with the radiate heat from the turbo. I did the same for the ECU harness and intake tubes to the throttle body. It may not look pretty but it sures work. Enjoy!

New turbo looks good. Your car looks really clean. Heat fromt he turbo was one of the major issues i was worried about to. I heat wrapped everything near the turbo, all the coolant lines and all the turbo piping and i do bought a turbo blanket. I believe i actually talked to you awhile back about yorus so i had an idea of what one to buy lol.

Yes you did talk to me about that turbo blanket a while back. I got boost logic on mine. It really help with keeping radiate heat inside engine bay. My next plan now is to find a way to run outside air into the engine to recirculate air a bit more. I may be gettinga vented hood later.

However, I am going to try to raise the back end of the hood up a little to vent hot air out. This will work also and I don't have to spend $800. Since before I have turbo I have a habit of opening up the hood everytime I finish driving when I get home and left the garage door open and running a fan into engine bay to cool things down quickly.

With the turbo I always drive easy the last 2 miles or so and then let it idle for a min or so before shut off the engine. I don't have thermostat for the motor oil or coolant so I don't know how warm it gets. I know my engine is not running too hot because the fan rarely if ever kick in when I parked. Fan only goes off a few times very briefly in the summer. And I have racing beat flash (before turbo when it was NA) which supposedly lower the fan start temperature to around 165F from stock 185F or something. And I am running stock radiator still.

Correction to turbo upgrade!

Hello guys,

Just wanted to correct something in Luckycat's 1st post in the thread.

The turbo was purchased from Esmeril Racing not Mazdaparts.com.

We work closely with them because they distribute our kit but it came from us.

Also, this is the turbo that is now included in all Esmeril Racing kits, Luckycat basically upgraded his turbo kit to the current kit we offer.

Best regards,

Chris

I am also tyring to decide between the KGParts fuel rails and the OBX fuel rails that are on ebay. Yes, i know its ebay and i never buy anything car related off that site, but they are $100 cheaper and seem to be a pretty sold set. Its hard to find anyone using them to see what there opinion is.
DO NOT go with the OBX fuel rails. They are a PITA. The thread size is not your typical/standard size, it's something like a 5/8-18 which of course OBX fails to disclose anywhere. Also, I had some difficult fitment issues that required me to "finesse" the installation. In the end it all worked out but it wasn't easy.

Well I am running new turbo on the old turbo map right now. It is not the best map if I want to dyno the car. More fine tuning still needed and I am not going to dyno the car knowing that the tune is still off. May be someday I will put the car on the dyno. Right now it is not going to happen as the winter is knocking on the door in few weeks.
