question about RP supercat
Does the RP supercat makes the exhaust really loud from the inside? I mean i have Greddy sp2 exhaust already.. and i dont wish to have any louder than the way it is... can anyone confirm for me?
Will it at least increase hp by a little?
is it worth the money?
and does it pass the state law?
thanks!

Dont buy it, it does not meet your first requirement. It is LOUD AS ****.
You can ask the good people over at the FLRX8CLUB forums, as they heard it at the last tampa meet. With aftermarket exhaust it is very loud. The person following me to the meet got in front of me on the highway as it was too loud for them. Overall, I think it sounds beautiful and I cannot get enough of it. RP dyno'd it and saw an increase of something like 9-10 whp. If you are looking for a "major horsepower upgrade" I would keep saving though and go FI. A high flow cat does not fit into this category.
Please keep in mind though, at idle or w/ cruise control at low RPMs or low throttle, there will not be much of a sound difference. But as with all exhaust mods that allow more flow, throttle = louder.

loud is all relative. i drove a catless, ported 8, and you couldn't hear the motor on the freeway with the windows down unless you were on the gas hard. and even then, it was barely enough to let you know what the motor was doing. side ports are quiet.

try sitting in an sti with straight pipe. you can't breathe when the car is WOT accelerating.
my only complaint about a straight pipe is that it makes the rx8 sound like... it's farting!! especially in low rpm range & in stop & go situations.

RP cat + stock exhaust = not too loud
RP cat + aftermarket exhaust = angry bumble bees on steroids but it sounds goooooooooood
Had some guy with a V8 mustang with a mean exhaust say my car sounded mean and liked it very much.

yes it is noticeably louder than just the RB exhaust. it still has the deep tone, but with more rumble to it. you will be heard going through neighborhoods. listen to nemesis's video clip of the rp+rb if you want to get a feel for it. I'm in the process of doing a video clip as well as soon as i get some time.
