Ran a 5.3s in 0-60 MPH with GReddy, is it possible?
Today I ran a 5.30 s from 0-60 mph, i am using the greddy turbo at almost 7 psi, held constant at 5.2 psi from 5K up. Did a couple of runs in high 5's (5.7-5.8), but there was this run where I had an almost perfect launch (the tyres barely spun and got traction) and I saw a 5.3s. Also did some 1/4 miles run in mid 14's but those are the ones in which I did 5.8s in 0-60, the one in which i did 5.3 could not complete the 1/4 mile because i got some traffic in front. Yes i am doing it on the road but I make sure the pavement is as flat as possible. I know about a good place to do these runs. Before the turbo I was running consistent in the mid 15's in 1/4 mile and mid 6's from 0-60mph. What do you guys think? Is my Gtech full of crap or is it possible?

Sure it's possible. Best times I see for NA are 5.5 sec. 0-60, 14.5 1/4 miles. A lot of typical runs are about 6.0 sec./15.1's. So 5.3 with a turbo is entirely reasonable. If you are at sea level & conditions are better you might even run lower.

Do you think that the magazines did not run this time ? Maybe they helped the RX8 out a bit but making it shorter or something ? Also, when they got this time they tested the S2000 & 350Z on the same test. Just because you can't do it, doesn;t mean somebody else can't.

In fact there'd probably be a lot fewer complaints here about the RX-8's acceleration if this were the case.

Of course we would like a 5.5 sec. 0-60 (which equates to a 14 flat 1/4 mile). That's a given but like you pointed out it doesn't do that.
All I'm saying is with the Greddy Turbo it can get down to a 5.3 sec. 0-60. If you want to complain about a 5.9 sec. 0-50 time then direct your frustration to Mazda, not me.

a modded non FI car(catback, hiflow cat/mp, intake, pulleys, flywheel, tuning) could possibly do 5.5 with a good launch but 100% stock i dont believe this car could do a tick faster than 5.8/5.9. my guess is the average is probably 6.2

Make sure to read the instructions on your gtech. You must make sure its in the center of your car, the ground is flat, and the unit is perfectly even. Atleast thats what my gtech pro says.
