I bought it off a fourm member. it is used with 29k but the price was too good to pass up. I'm talking to Ray about a rebuild for it just to have sitting here.

When you get it rebuilt, paint it. I wish I would have painted mine black and VR....next time...

yeah i planed on powder coating it yellow and black along with eveything else that is metal (the engine was fully dressed out)

well i boosted the car up to 2psi in 3rd and 4th and up to 4psi in 6th on the highway. It rolls into boost about where i expected and pulls harder than i ever imagined. 2nd gear half throttle i hit boost near 4500 and 2 psi very quick. down the highway at a cruise a touch of the gas and im in and can pass with ease. It has been a long road but paid off. ill have a better idea after some more tuning work and tuning the EBC. Thanks to Kane and his tuning this has worked out great and dont think i would be here now with out his help. The car will be dynoed along with WCS (mawnees old set up) sometime in the future.

Thanks man, we got some more work to do for sure, but now that the sensors are all pretty good, it should be easier.

Wait until you get 10 PSI.... :D

yeah it should be crazy. The blow through and the set up worked good for me. I admit I was taking a chance. aside from 4500 rpm zone kicking our *** when the injectors fired.

does that mean I make your list KANE?

no not that i have seen but i have not looked in a few weeks.

as for the lag i expect there to be some based on a bigger turbo, but i do not it expect to be as bad as some believe. Also not knocking on anyones builds but based on some of the rear mounts i have seen (not just rx8s) they use cheaper turbos and componets. All of them talk how cheap it is to do but it would be if you used a journal bearing/knock off turbo. How can you compare the two? Im also not saying i didn't make sacrafices or did everything perfect on this build to do a rear mount.

I think youll be able to get the spool down to something a little more exceptable once you have your tune refined. However I think it will still be relatively high 3000's since it is a rear mount setup. Im really interested in seeing what your able to pull out of your configuration.

i really do not have too many update as i just went back to work last week. Where we left off was 5psi sometimes cheaps to 7 and back to 5 in high end. It was hitting low 11- high 10s AFRs. I did have some rich spots in lower loads at partical throttle while full seemed to be getting close. One we get it close ill do the rest on the dyno and some EBC tuning too. hopefully soon on my days off and there is no rain.

As for sound clips i can try and get some if i have a second person in the car. Most of the time its just me.

I did have a neighbor call the police and they told me they had complaints of sprinted runs down my street and loud exhaust when the wastegate dumps out of the driver exhaust tip

I am working on a few exterior things and looking into a motor rebuild and exactly what i want to do with that. I have also been looking at a slight turbo upgrade but wont do that until i have to retune for the motor and such.

Either way i can say i love the linear power feel a boosted 8 has. Its better than i ever expected. I cant imagine 10-12psi.
