Recommendations on EMU with Blitz S/C Kit
Dear All,
this might be the first thread I am starting, as I have retained myself only in reading the vast information in this forum.
The reason for this thread is the following:
I bought a Blitz S/C Kit from Japan for the Low Power version 4 A/T, although I have a 5 MT (European Spec).
The guys from Blitz told me that the kit will install perfectly (and it did), but that the included fuel controller will only work with a JDM-spec RX8.
So I decided to look for a piggyback in order to make it work.
My problem (if I can state it that way) is that I have 2 choices:
1st choice is to leave it to a Tuner that has successfully tuned several Greddy Turbo Kits with the use of the E-manage Blue unit (as this is the unit he suggests) ... or
2nd choice, to buy the EMU RX8 upgrade Unit and tune it myself.
So what would you recommend?
For choice #2 I have found a guy that successfully tuned his own RX8 (T/C) with the Ultimate, and who would gladly help me out.
The idea of tuning it myself is very tempting, but I am a little afraid of blowing my engine.
As there is no map available for the Blitz Kit, i would start from point 0 with a blank map, having to data log everything and gradually work on. Which in theory sounds nice, but ignorance is frightening.
Well, I don't want to make it too long.
Just wanted to ask for your opinion on what you would suggest. (note: this is one of the first, if not the first, of S/C kit's installed on a 4port Low Power Renesis here in Greece).
Regards,
George
P.S. Maybe somebody with experience could guide me through the tuning process, so i avoid engine failure?
