So either tonight or tomorrow im bringing it home. It starts no problem im pulling 20 vaccum so there seem to be no leaks. The car is not tuned so i will be taking it easy to get it home and watch all my gauges very carefully.

good idea to disconnect the actuator arm from the wastegate if you don't want to make any boost ....

I have the accesstuner software I also have the MM service but based on when i got it i wouldnt get it in time and well i have to wait like everyone else. My tuner is a wayssss away but i need to make a trip to him so I can have the MM maps as well as his. I am reading and learning alot trying to get to the point where i can tune myself using conservative maps....that includes growing some ***** too lol.

It's not as hard as some make it sound but yeah you need lots of time and be willing to take a few risks .....

Although MM provides a great service the problem I see with it is that he will never share his maps with you so if you ever do decide to go your own way you have to start from scratch .
Still - it's a good way to safely get you going .

Sooo After a long cruise home the car ran well afr's were pretty steady between12-15 at cruise, at start up my vaccum was 20. It was popping alot but nothing to wild happened. I heard the turbo begin to spool a few time it made it hard to not want to punch it lol. Definitely needs to be tuned. One oddity was my AFR gauge when i laid off the throttle for some reason it pegged at 21.9 .............didnt make much sense or does it im pretty sure i would be toast if that was correct however when i went on the throttle again it went back to my crusing afr anyone ever seen this? I have the innovative lc-1 with regular gauge.

afr > 20 is fuel-cut, that's normal when you're off throttle.

Makes complete sense then thanks Al. I almost had a heart attack then realized no crazy sounds only happens when i lay completely off throttle and when i go back on its normal again maybe the gauge is being odd.

Yeah quick indeed.........no corners cut either.

I really wish i could tune this car myself...................Ill have to keep reading lol.

/\ was thinking about doing a DIY tuning thread for dummies but it would probably just turn into a flame fest
Most of the info on how to do it is on here somewhere - scattered all over the place ...

I agree it would be helpful to those who want to expand their knowledge everyone always will have something to add or something that conflicts with another belief but ultimately will be helpful putting it all in one place maybe at least i think so lol.

Why didn't you have Dave tune your car while it was at his shop?

I saw that long ago..........Im running a 28x10x3 with mazmart thermosat soon the waterpump as well since they had an issue with mfg them. Also shouldn't Meth help alot? On my cruise home at 55-60 i saw no spikes in temp but i wasnt under boost. Chickenwafer never mentioned any temp issues as well. I think ill be ok because im on the NE our ambient temp doesnt really get super hot and i dont plan on tracking the car. I will definitely keep an eye out though thanks for the linky and the heads up. I wish i could drive it and find out lol. PS the rice effect is awesome my neighbor came out of their house then rang my doorbell and said "Holy hell you boosted your 8 that intercooler looks crazy". But you are right is it efficient and effective....

If it's only 10" deep you could easily raise it - you need to get some airflow underneath . Yes it does look good but why build in a compromise to performance ......
If you do raise it you will also need to cut out the blocked off diamonds in the factory grill to get extra airflow through .
