RWD+LSD=Zoom gets THE BOOST
#101
I ran into a small, "dumb", problem. Whom ever owned this kit before me has made some interesting changes as you all have seen with external wastegate and what not.
The problem I have now is that the bung on the charge tube is too big for the jet air hose and I would need to run a reducer to get it to fit. I can do this but damn it will look ugly
so, my concern lies in the jet air connecting to the intake tube pre turbo (with check valve). Is it better for the car to have the jet air to see boost or does this really not matter?

It doesnt matter if you have the check valve in place.... some people will say better to not see boost as there is no chance of blowing the jet air line from the steel line that it meets below the air pump
#105
I know that, which is why I put that I would use a check vlave if going pre turbo. My question is, are there any advantages to running the jet air post turbo, as in seeing boost?

As far as that goes I don't believe there is any noticable advantages performance or 'safety' wise with either set-up. But maybe somebody who has tried both would say different?...
How do you plan on capping the charge pipe connection? Recirc weld looks well done!

I would have to have the bung removed and welded shut. which also would look pretty terrible but I can live with it.
the recirc weld turned out great. My buddy who opened his own shop not long ago has become quite good at welding

that outlet from the charge tube would be handy all the same . I have mine hooked up to my BC and my guage on the UIM (quite useful to know what boost there is pre throttle plate).
#113
i have the fix 2 down at the turbo outlet pipe for the BC.
although, it would be nice to know the boost pre TB and post IC

that's fine for the line that goes to the solenoid . I'm talking about the line that reads boost . Most hook this to the UIM ..... I don't .

makes sense. thanks.
but I still have an issue lol, the size of this bung on the charge pipe is too large, I will have to see if I can somehow reduce it down to a 1/8 nipple :/

Does it? I am confused as ****. But then again my brain is much after being on the AT&T support line for 1.5 hours.

Well, from the way my kit is set up I can do what Brettus is saying, grab a boost reading for the BC from my charge pipe (which is pre throttle body) then I can get the boost gauge signal from the UIM (where the vfad connects)
#120
So you are going to Tee off from the Fix #2 location? Your only boost gauge signal is going to be from the VFAD connection? Thinking about a second boost gauge at all pre throttle body?
#121
I think you may be slightly confused.
The Boost Controller will have its own boost signal which I am thinking of grabbing from the charge pipe. The boost Controller solonoid will get a boost reading from fix #2 then feed it back to the wastegate.
The boost gauge will get its signal from the VFAD connection. I am only going to have one boost gauge

So I need another fitting aside from the fix #2 on the same pipe?

If you have a boost controller you do fix#2 using it. Instead of the line from turbo outlet to wastegate actuator, you do
turbo outlet->boost controller->actuator
the boost controller is suppose to be set up that way. It is the pressure source for the bc to control the wastegate with.
