You don't need a bridge port, not unless you have the money for the turbo setup you will need to support it: GT40 or equivalent minimum. When you bridge port a car (even half bridge, which is only bridging the secondary ports on the front and rear irons) it pulls very little vacuum because of huge overlap between the intake and exhaust strokes. Since your standalone will determine load based on engine load/MAP, tuning will be tricky with a bridgeport. You will need a crapload of timing under low load driving, and expect city gas mileage of around 12.
And take it from me man: when you get it running, you will want to drive it on the street plenty. I You can only go to a track so often given how expensive it is, especially if it's any more than an hour drive. After all that work you won't be happy letting it just sit there until you can take it somewhere for organized, legal performance driving. My 88 Rx-7 Turbo was stripped out at one point in its life with no power steering and all that crap. It got annoying. And weight--unless you are super serious about competitive racing, who really cares about weight when you're what 2900-3000lbs with at least 350whp? You'll still trap 115+ in the 1/4 whether you have your carpet in or not, and ET's on street tires will be mid 12's at worst. The car will be at least as quick as a C6.
After you own one you will realize that race cars pretty much suck unless you're at the track, which is going to be way less often than you think...

Sure wont be going to the drag strip though.. dont care at all for it. Plan to keep power steering though and most interior stuff.Will take out the seats except for drivers and lighten the dash up (no a/c, heat, radio) and i would like to find a replacement roof with no sunroof...

I'm doing it to my fully functional rx-8. Don't think of it as tearing it apart, think of it as a heart transplant, and yes it's needed.

you gotta have a lot of ***** to trust your motor to an ebay wastegate. I have seen a knockoff Tial 38mm that was completely non functional right out of the box. Leaked horribly at idle, and yes it was installed correctly, because we installed a genuine Tial 38 in the same way after that and it worked fine. Ebay turbo parts are so hit-and-miss... I've seen some hold up for a long time and others be complete crap.
