Hey Drifter D, I'll probably be heading up there one day next week. It looks like it's going to be thursday, because I have my Staff Sergent test thursday morning, and then I have the entire afternoon and evening free.

Ray called me this afternoon and they had it up on the dyno. It produced 184 rwhp. He's sending the dyno sheet over to my email hopefully soon. One I receive it I'll go ahead and post it up. Now again these were just baseline numbers, just out of curiosity to see what it would produce. The next time it will see dyno time is when the new 5 speed transmission is installed. I honestly don't know what I'm expecting from the 5 speed, but I do know that it is definitely a stronger unit, plus the gears are slightly spread out more.

So the project has begun, WOOHOO, ummm of course still no turbo selection as of yet, no choice on the managment unit yet. Again as soon as I find out the information, I'll go ahead and post. So just sit back, relax and enjoy me spending my money lol.

I'm guessing, based on his posts, that this gentleman could really give a rats *** if someone bows down to him or not. It's the ricers with the $1000 plastic faux carbon fiber hood that want the bow-downs ...

I was trying to be somewhat funny

In reality, I doubt they would bow down to anyone but I'm sure a 400+ WHP RX8 will impress some folks here.

What is your intentions with this car? Obviously your not going to be able to use it for street use, so are you tracking it?

Good luck with the project, and let us know more about the Stand Alone ECU. I really want to know how they are going to do this.

Ok i just read this post... so why do you need an e-management unit if you will have a stand-alone unit? I think i'm missing something here.

How did you learn how much downforce the wing produces? no companies ever know when I ask.

Hey C.J.

i think mine made 188 on the baseline dyno run, and at that time i only had the K&N Typhoon intake and B&B cat-back. BTW, i'm wonderin' if we've already met? you don't have any stickers on your car, do you...?

my car will be back at PFS once i receive the interceptor-x, which is expected by the end of the month. but, i may swing by there next thursday afternoon if i can. good luck on the staff test!

Well it's the end of the day and I didn't get the email with the dyno result. Hopefully Ray will send it over tomorrow. He said he'll have to scan it and then send it over. It'll probably be a couple of days before I post anything new about the project, but I promise you will continue to hear from me. Of course if there are any questions what so ever, please do ask, and I'll try to refer any questions you have to Ray and get the best possible answer. Thanks agian.

Here's my baseline dyno graph from PFSupercars. I guess it was about 180 to the rear wheels, well I was close. It was 184 to the rear wheels. I was only off by 4 hp which isn't too bad. Anyways here's the Dynograph as I received it from PFSupercars.

Also the transmission may be coming out today or tomorrow. So we're already making progress, WOOHOO!

Actually the car is going to be street driven, just not as often as before because of the body kit and paint, don't want to f it up. Hopefully I'll be getting my carbon fiber fenders and trunk lid before I go up to PFSupercars this week. I'm am definitely going up on thursday just to sit down with Ray again and get any kind of update he may have. So I know I won't have any new information until at least next Thursday. So if I don't post anything please don't think I've disappeared. Until then take care guys.

good choice on the Defi gauges - they look perfect with the stock dash. are you going with a custom pod set-up?

Just a quick note. I have heard that the momo ***** does not sit well on the stick. might want to give the below product a try.

From the prices, it looks like those are the regular Defi gauges. The ones that match our dash are the BF series.

I got the black face gauges, they'll work for what I want it for. Besides I'm trying to keep a very stealthy look with the whole car, inside and out. Besides the BF series gauges only come in the 60 MM size, I wanted 52 MM so that I could do a custom gauge pod where the nav system is suppose to sit. So it'll be 6 gauges in the center pod, and then the tach off the a-pillar. The place I'm going to, to have the gauge pod made is Canton Customs, they can do either fiberglass, or carbon fiber. I'll probably go with a carbon fiber setup. If I don't like the way it looks I can always sell what I have and go with something different, but I'm sure I'll be pleased with the outcome.

Oh and as far as the shifter **** goes, I'm doing a swap to an RX7 transmission. So more then likely it'll fit without much of a problem. I'm sure we'll get it to work out in the end. The steering hub I got isn't for the RX8, but it's used on 90% of the Mazda's out there, so we'll see if that even fits. If not we'll have to modify it, or custom fab one.

I wonder where are you going to put all those gauges...
and better go with the MS underbrace, its much much lighter than the Autoexe...
