I am hoping to finish everything in 2-3 weeks time but my hands are tied as I don't have a garage, I literally built this whole thing up on my drive way and fabbed the bits in my shed..
It's not a kit I had to make it all up from scratch, more on that in the thread.
Once done, it will be tuning and that is going to depend on how well the nature treats us here in UK.
I don't know much about tuning so this is going to be interesting.
Again, thanks for documenting your journey.

Madrotor,

Congrats...it's good to see other builds coming together, ...and their individual uniqueness. Look forward to the build thread...

However, if I'm viewing your photo correctly... you may consider changing the orientation of your oil filter. If that's your oil filter I've circled...then its installed upside down ...which will make for some unnecessarily messy oil changes. Flip that puppy over...and oil changes w/b a breeze.

Yes sir, that's the oil filter relocation kit & duly noted, thank you for the advice.
I will start a thread as soon as I am done so I can sit down and do it properly.

I am here It is Phantom Blue Mica. I believe the color code is 32C. Some of my photos may be altering the hue giving it more of a green appearance.

Hey all, hope you are doing well in the new year.

Had an issue with my IGN-1A coils the other day I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced. I had the car out for a drive and all of a sudden it just died. I managed to coast into a parking lot and started poking around. I found the 30A fuse to the ignition system was blown. I am running the Sake Bomb Garage kit. One of the coils had a white chunk of something plastic like that looked like it had squirted out and hardened. I disconnected that plug, replaced the fuse and was able to start the car and get it home. I ordered a new coil and got it installed yesterday and all is well. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this and if I am doing something to cause the issue. I am running 3ms dwell, as recommended for the coils.

Slash, check out my REW swap thread. I installed brand new IGN-1A with a Rywire harness and had a coil start smoking and melt the back of the coil/electrical connection on it's first start. I'm blaming it on an internal fault which is apparently not all that uncommon on these coils. We replaced the electrical connector on the Rywire harness and put a new coil in and in the small amount of miles I've put on it the issue hasn't resurfaced. Not sure if this is the exact same scenario you experienced as mine was on the harness side, not the spark wire side and my coil didn't try and make popcorn for me

Farts and popcorn don't make for good power

Yeah, I've been running these coils for almost 2 years now with no issue. I replaced the coil and it's running great again so not too worried about it. Was just curious if anyone else had seen anything like this.

Thanks for the bump, still love driving this car after 16 years! Learned to live with the quirks of the Adaptronic, but considering the pros against the cons it's a net step up from the stock ECU/AP

Most people have creep issues at 38mm and that power level, so kudos for designing and setting it up properly for that to work!

I was looking forward to possibly seeing it pushed some more with an ECU that can be setup properly with a full-on turbo software strategy. Let me know if we need to start a Renesis Build gofundme project

Glad to see you are still nuts enough to own an RX-8 slash.

I'd be down for donating to that.

Quick question - has anyone tried the LinkG4+ range of ECU's?

Car is still running great! We had some good weather this weekend so I took it out for a spin. Not pushing any limits these days, just a modest 12psi which is fun on the streets without getting too crazy. Working on my 13B-REW build.
