Speed Chips do they work?
hey guys does anyone know if those Optima Speed Chips sold on ebay even work? it says that its easy to install and un-install, and that it gives about 15-25 HP? i dont know if i believe that crap, but if someone knows please let me know thanks! this is the ebay site

thanks for your help! i mean ive heard that the worst it can do is make ur CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON! but i dont know, i dont wanna risk that sh*t! but thanks

Of course they don't work.
The theory was on firmer ground in the Eighties, when air flow sensors and fuel injection computers were just becoming common. The air sensor measures the air, and prescribes how much fuel goes in; fool the sensor with a simple resistor and it changes the mixture/power.
These days the computer would adjust the fuel back to where it needed to be in seconds, based on feedback from the oxygen sensors, downstream from the engine. Then it would check the sensor's overall resistance, and record it as a fault, and throw a CEL. End of experiment, $20 down the drain!

**** thanks stealth i had no idea, i had a feeling that it might not work and it might just screw my car up..... im lookin to get some more hidden HP in the comp, ive done enough on the engine and stuff.... I'm waiting for someone to come out with 8 Programmers, where u just hook it up to the port of ur car and u can take the gov off and all that.... thanks for your help
