I think we can all agree that this is THE MOST EXCITING TIME to be an 8 owner. I have been waiting very patiently for this day. You guys can argue or whatever, but I am just so damned happy! Good luck SSR, Richard Paul, Greddy, and whoever else forges the way for our hopes and dreams!!!

Just to clarify, I wasnt implying that an exhaust driven turbine is free power. It is just not subject to the same parasitic losses as a belt driven supercharger. There are no free lunches when it comes to forced induction:^(

Until a car with this kit goes on the same dyno as a car with a Greddy, we'll never know how different the products are. Once this gets released, two people need to go to the same shop, run on the same dyno on the same day. Then we'll know.

Until then however, I must say I am enjoying the arguing. My favorite thing in the world about internet forums.

We are updating our site as we speak, at this time the pricing of the kit will be starting at $5495. However we are still offering the initial introductory offer which will knock off a substantial amount of the pricing. Call our office for more details on how to obtain one of these kits, 520.260.8655.

I am at Fort Gordon (blah). I wish I was w/3 ID. They are getting such new and cool equipment that the thought of playing w/it makes me feel warm in my pants. But, alas, I am stuck in 93rd Signal BDE. EAC, DGM/MSE unit. Yes, I am a signal guy. Please dont hold that against me

Check out our thread and you can see a complete break down of what comes with the kit, and then you can see why it's priced where its at. The price is very fair, we do not tend to try and compete with a japanese based company where they can outsource labor and materials for next to nothing.

here's another reason why our kit is more expensive, below you can see a break down of both kits.

And you really can make a comparision by that list for the Greddy kit. That's just a summary vs the detailed list of parts for your own kit...

Fair enough, but for YOU to use as a comparision to show the added value of your kit over theirs... it was hardly fair... even if it's the one THEY publish.

Actually the Greddy kit retails for $4195, and you don't have to use all of our options. For example instead of buying the TSI unit, you can use an e-manage or the canzoomer, or even the S-AFC.

If you're on a budget then you could run our turbo system for $4995 along with a S-AFC or Greddy E-Manage for $300 more and you could safely run our turbo system at 5 PSI.

Then, why not make these options available? If you could put together the packages as they are ordered, you would have more marketability and reach a broader customer base. I.E. SSF turbo package w/emanage for $xxxx.xx. Or SSF trubo with TSI for $xxxx.xx. In a world where the customer matters, the customer SHOULD be able to piece his 'extras' on from SSF as he pleases. Just a thought to help you

...Pre-tuned... add other (at least one) management option that comes pre-tuned. If one has to buy an e-manage or whatever instead to save a couple bucks, but then has to do their own tuning work... that's more money and time (and time is money as well). Where's the savings gone??

No one's trying to knock your kit SSR/SFR... that list is full of quality parts and from what we've seen it looks well-made. If it does put down the power claimed when going for the full kit (TSI and injectors)... then you've done a great job at boosting performance. However... man that price. Just a suggestion, but maybe a change in marketing strategy is best here...

Telling people what the retail price is for the Greddy kit is only as useful as giving someone the "sticker price" for their car. What matters is what people will actually be paying for it... so if people can find the Greddy kit for an average of $3000, then that's the only number that matters here, because no one is paying MSRP for it.

Come on -- the GReddy may "retail" for X but it SELLS for about $2950 shipped -- at least that is what I paid. I seriously considered the SFR/SSR unit -- called them several times. To be honest the price really wasn't even an issue. But the cost/benefit to me is an issue and the fit to my driving application is an issue. In my analysis the GReddy won on cost/benefit hands down and I think it will be a better fit for my application -- pretty normal "spirited" daily driving and an occasional track day.

I think SFR/SSR has a great place in the market and I really hope they are successful GReddy is using their economy of scale to try and dominate the price leadership position. Someone else (maybe SFR/SSR) will develop and successfully market a product that will dominate the quality/performance position in the market. To be the player in that segment necessitates higher pricing, better service, higher quality parts, better engineering, and ultimately superior performance/reliability, etc. I look forward to seeing if SFR/SSR can succeed. My bet right now is on RP if he can put it all together. I have said before the GReddy may just be a temporary fix for me until RP's unit is proven and available. :D
