im using the 13b renisis motor. and trying to get 500hp with a higher boost and internal work. and a tune job. wish me luck. it wont be anytime soon but it will be done. im working on other thing in my car right now. im going on a buying cycle.. first was exterior, then power, then suspension, and last interior. and im on the interior part now. so next is exterior for the most part. then we'll get back to power

 

i still dont understand how throwing on a turbo only gained you 12 BHP.. so like..5 whp... i dont know much about the A/f Ratio yet either... so..

 

OK they are the same .... bhp and whp means i am putting down that much power ...
i wouldn't do all this for only 12 hp...i got about 60 hp extra na we have 180-190WHP i have 250 do the math

 

hm bhp (Brake Horsepower or.. "base Horsepower") and whp (wheel Horsepower) are the same thing eh?

i wont touch anything more on it. but.. you should do the math first....but you have close to about 300 Bhp... to have 250-260 Whp...

still.... im still jelous of the power you make.. an 1/4 times ?? im assuming a 13.8-13.6 would be about right..?

What shop are you using to do the doing the install?

 

Really bhp could mean either. The "brake" just refers to the dyno method of loading the engine. It is conventionally meant to represent flywheel hp though.

Follow the Mystery Custom Turbo thread...see if it happens (just fired it up so no engine mods yet...but once a rebuild occurs then it is on ).

you can get 320 with this system and only run 9 pounds of boost.

I am in the process of getting the kit installed finally took a while to get all the parts. They say it should be ready by mid next week. I will let you know when I get it back. You can check out set up no problem. How long have you had your car turboed any problems with Emmissions? I am in the Owings Mills area guess that is the suburbs of Baltimore.

I had a Zex Nitrous kit installed on mine for a while, before I began building the turbo, and with Just a 55hp boost, I was routinely beating evos, camaros, mustangs, BMW M3 and the list goes on. So yeah with 320 HP at the wheels you'll be real fast.

 

Yeah man Emission is a problem but i have waived mine for 2 years you can do the same.... i hope you like the car when it is ready (i am sure you will) and i have to say this

In addition to those I recently killed a 2006 BMW M6 from a roll. I think he was in the low-horsepower mode, which is still 400hp!

 

Hey guys anyone with turbo where did you put your gauges having a hard time finding the right pods

 

Anyone I have the Navigation system in my RX8 so no center consule for me anyone else find some where to put their gauge pods and gauges? And to answer Alexva8 I will post the name and address of the shop once to work is done and I am satisfied don't want to give them advertisement if I am not happy with the work. I should be getting the car back this week. I have my fingers and toes crossed that all goes well. I am very curious to see how this car performs with boost. I at one time I was tossing around the idea of buying an EVo but deciede to go with performance mods instead. I have to say no much can touch this car once it is lowered and the suspension in modified. all that is has been lacking is HP. Can't wait.

 

pods can go by ashtray....or god forbid on top of the steering column

 

I am the steering column type myself...don't want to look too far away from the road when the boost is on & the traction control is off!!!

 

I've seen pictures of the nav screen being used to display virtual guages. Was that just a one-off concept thing by Mazda?
