Supercharger ???'s
i have utliized the search button b4 all you throat swimmers jump down my throat and drown..
and i cant find info on whats needed for aadding a supercharger to the 8
like in a turbo you need the intercooler and the fuel injector upgrade and the piping the BOV, etc etc...
what all do you need for superchargering?? is it just a bolt on action?
in a preference i would be referring to the pettit..

when you buy the kit its everything you need....all the info is on the site, I know I have checked before. there is a thread called pettit supercharger owners....that may be a good place to look but im guessing you didnt....

Simple bolt on? If you buy a kit designed for the RX8 then yes it is all just bolt on and a kit will include the supercharger, brackets, belts, pulleys, an intake kit with maf housing and air filter, intercooler piping and couplers (for the hymee and DNA kit) heat exchanger and hoses (for the pettit kit) along with a veriety of other little parts. plus any kit is going to require tunning.
Hope that helps a little. Now on a more serious note, you do need to do some more FI research. There are numerous different types of supercharger systems, only a few for the rx8, Pettit, hymee and DNA, maybe a couple more. Pettit has the most customers, the DNA kit never really made it to the USA but has been around for a long time and the hymee kit has several in the USA and more to come. Each kit has its pros and cons and they are all use a different style of supercharger. The kit that is best for you will greatly depend on what your goals are. Depending on that answer, a turbo may be better for you or maybe no FI at all.
Good luck.

Answering this question will not help you because there is tons of information you should know before FIing the car.
Some tidbits:
1. You do not need injectors. This "need" is determined from fuel demand. The stock fuel injectors are good until X whp. Exceed X, replace injectors.
2. You do not need BOV piping in a turbo setup. It'll help you some in a MAF system but even then it's not a need persay.
3. You do not need an intercooler at low boost values.
4. Pettitt may not be making kits for a while but if they are making a list of people for another batch, call them and get on it. Then have them tell you what you need. From reading their site, you need the kit + management.
A supercharger and a turbocharger are basically the same thing done two different ways.

thanks for the info greatly appreciated.. and i wasnt demanding.. i was being a jerk as i felt you were too..
i will be fine at 300 it will be more than enough.. and with my other upgrades i think that a cobb AP(as well) will put me up a bit over the 300 mark
i thought about a turbo and was going to but.. the thing i like about the SC is the boost at full rpm range rather than a limited range due to charging up boost..
and it did seem as if the SC in the long run would be less cost comsuming..
also there is a video of the 8 with the pettit SC and it sounds sexy

less cost consuming no...it just seems that the supercharger kits are better built however both super and turbo set ups lessen the life of the engine. Also the two SC kits out cost more than any turbo kit out

^ is true as far as the kits concerned..
to my understanding.. turbo charging will be a bit more than sc due to the installation. it will also need a proper tune upon install correct??
a SC seems more DIY friendly..
but im not positive.. the pettit kit was 5k n some changes
but when you buy a kit for a TC+ installation and tuning wouldnt it be very close in price?? for example the greddy turbo kit is like 3.6k i mean it probably wouldnt be another 1400 in install cost but than again.. idk
plus the whole full rpm range is better IMO!!

It's about fit and finish, and quality. The power levels are nearly the same, but the Hymee kit is more expensive. I'll get the first one in North America, but there has not been a wheel dyno. If I was looking for huge numbers, I'd go turbo, but I'd rather have the best kit available then have the largest e-peen anyways.
Hymee has a larger blower, and I think it would hold together better in the long run than a pettit. That being said, I don't think we've had an engine failure due to S/C yet. Olddragger blew his motor with a pettit kit, but I think there was another underlying problem, don't remember.
I seriously think you need to read up the Pettit and the Hymee threads and compare which is more important for you. Knowledge is power.

With the dropping value of the dollar vs other currency, you have to pony up close to $10k to convert it to enough Australian dollars to buy the Hymee kit now.
I would also be careful of throwing around the power band arguement. Quite a few people on here will disagree with you, including me. Turbo's need to spool up, true, but any properly sized turbo for the power you want will be fully spooled by 3k rpm, and you don't even cruise down that low.
The Hymee kit is my #1 FI choice if I ever get the money. I prefer the NA feeling over the kick in the pants.
