System Rich
Hey I must call on the help of the Gurus...hehe! Here is the deal.... My engine flooded last month. I got the full Greddy kit w/ emanage. Deflooded the engine changed out spark plugs. I still had the greddy intake and the extra oil and gas mix all contaminated the intercooler. I took the intercooler off rinsed it out with gas let it drain and put it all back on. I took the greddy sponge filter (AY-AB I think) off and bought a temp K&N style filter from autozone. Once all the smoke cleared from the exhaust I got a engine light. Figured it was the O2 sensor cuz of the smoke. Checked it out and it was a System rich and a fuel system coolant temp. I figured ah probably didnt let the intercooler drain long enough. Drove it to work figured probably a little residual. Didnt boost or anything cuz I didnt want any predet or any crazy stuff, kept it around 3k rpms. Reset the engine light and I continue to get the rich code but no more coolant temp code. I took the intercooler off today to drain it and its dry. Little glossy ,on the pipes, of gas but no puddles. So now Im wondering if its the fumes, is the gas already in the intake system (im sure there is sum but how much and will it cause the rich code), and if the intake is not getting enough air cuz of the air filter shudnt it give a MAF sensor code instead of the rich? I've cleaned out my intercooler like this before and never had a problem. I'm open for suggestions

All my fuel parameters are normal. The car was running fine and the only two things that I changed before I started with these rich codes was cleaning out the FMI (which I have done before) and putting that new air filter. Im wondering if my O2 sensors were jacked up, but then I shud be getting sum kind of O2 sensor codes instead of the rich ones. Im gonna clean my greddy filter and swap them back out and I will see if this changes anything.

Just got done putting the FMI back and what I did was wash my old greddy filter and put it back on. I didnt really step on it too much but I am code free. I guess the air filter was the prob. Those high flow filters arent so high flow I guess. Im gonna get my car aligned tomorrow cuz I put sum 19"s on it and I will get on it a little. I really need to study up on tuning cuz I am tired of paying for the car to be tuned. Thanks for your help fellas. I will update tomorrow after the 2nd trial

Well apparantly the new "high Flow" air filter wasnt so high flow. I guess it was too restrictive causing the rich codes to trip. replace with airinx again and all is back to normal
