It was like $165 shipped I think....It is a "true" 3 inch midpipe so it will only work with the TurboXS catback unless you want to modify the outlet to fit another exhaust. I already had the catback so I just got the midpipe but my suggestion would be to buy the catback because it comes with the midpipe for free. The TurboXS exhaust tips are ugly and too short so I bought some chrome tips off of ebay for less than $100. A little welding and your set to jet...
Thanks for the Info. I already have the HKS Hi-Power which is 3" as well, so no worried there. That price is by far the best price on any midpipe I've found!

I would love to do a custom kit, but noone offers a manifold alone... otherwise I would've been FI by now.
As in a fully one-off custom build. 321 SS manifold, 321 downpipe, HKS T51R turbo, Tial 60mm external wastegate, Tial BOV, lots of fun stuff, lotsssssssssss of power

How much RWHP are you aiming for and how will you solve the spark blowout issue?

Sounds pretty serious... I either need to learn how to weld... or hope some manifolds start appearing for sale.

I bet someone would be glad to make one for you if the price is right....

I could make it strong - but it would look EXACTLY like poop - see my Turbocharged Land Cruiser Thread. I think MM made his own.

LOL. That is the first time I watched your video. Nice condom inflater you got there!
I just looked at your thread, Kane. Welding with no protection (for your metal or your flesh)? Nice!

My fabbing is not much prettier. Ray calls my welds a stack of hemorrhoids. I can haz whelding skillz!

Well... I can weld like that.... I just see so much good work, GTAW for example, and I would want mine to look somewhat like that. I just need practice... lots of practice

BTW, sorry for the hijack.

LOL - that kind of welding is still safer than doing it underwater...

I have seen some world class hand welding on some of our pressure tanks...but I have never DONE anything that looks like the stack of dimes except in practice.

I have lit my shoes on fire during this project.... those were some good shoes too.

Jeff, where did you get that Manifold flange with the SAIP tube like that? It is very nice...

Also, as long as the welds can handle the heat down there then I guess your hemorrhoids are OK...

Isn't the stock manifold like that?

Its the flange cut off of an OEM manifold. I actually plumb the air pump into the down pipe, so that is just there for torsional rigidity against heat expansion.

Well, that has been the weak spot. I occasionally get a crack right over the center port.
My next version will be made out of cast weld-els and I will not put a weld there, but to either side.

Thanks for the offer, Chet.

However, after discussing it with MazdaManiac it doesn't appear that I will need your welding services this time. The Ultimate uses a feature that sends a 22:1 A/F ratio to the PCM whenever the SAIP is running. This tricks the PCM into thinking that the SAIP is running and thus makes it possible to remove the SAIP.

Forgive me for asking, what does SAIP stand for, and what is it's purpose?

Secondary Air Injection Pump.
It adds air at cold-start to burn off the over-rich A/F under those conditions.

Its the "vacuum cleaner" sound you hear when you start your car for the first 30 seconds or so on a cold morning.

Burn....

Another question.. If you go with a header, or in this case turbo, and the manifold does not have the SAIP tube... what then? Is there some osrt of block-off?

Edit: That's odd.... I typed this post after I saw CRH's post.... how did mine post before his?
