Anyway, he is shooting to finish and put the car on the dyno on Thursday. He did send me one pic. The quality of pic is not great, but its something.

so far, about 300 miles, a far cry from 1000k. from what I understand my compression will be the same as the FD RX7 since i'm using its internals, so I'm guessing 9.0:1 or 9.7:1 .. I'll ask and confirm since I never directly asked him for the #'s.

ETA for my car, with 700 miles left and my friend unwilling to drive my car seats to the shop i'm guessing end of august or latest, mid september.

my biggest challenge is the fact I'm 700 miles away from my car so I keep on having to ask ppl for favors which I feel really bad for

so close and yet so far

The car is finally broken in but not all the work i wanted to be done (non engine stuff) was done before the break in period: waiting on interior rewrap and brakes to be finished.

So hopefully, soon, i'll have a power dyno run .. will post it when its done for sure.

If it's off of a Turbo II, it should be 9.0:1 for the 200hp version, 8.5:1 for the 182 hp version. In that case it's the first low compression RX8 I've heard of. This should help your car deal with turning up the wick.

I remember Manuel saying he welded the internal wastegate shut, and put an external on and got about 12-13 psi and a little over 300 whp (about 310 whp) but when he went higher than that it started to lose it's efficiency rapidly & turn into a big heat generator. Not sure if/how much more hp you will gain as your engine is more built out, and flow should be better, but turbo was at it's limitat around that boost level. Good luck.
