Turbo vs 13B Swap

Hey everyone,
I own a 6MT 8, '04. I'm looking into either turbo or doing the 13B (6 series) engine swap. To sum things up, I have read across the forums, but I like direct advice personally.
Although cost is not a huge factor, I'm hoping to spen around the 9k mark. I have researched, and the Esmeril kit looks pretty promising. On the other hand, I know the swap gives much more potential for power.
All in all, I want my car to push (around) 300whp. Its a fairly large number, and if I can only get to 270 or what-so-ever, thats fine, I'm basically asking what everyone here thinks?
Also, forgot to mention that the car is a DD during the spring/summer/fall months (I do street race for fun), and the car will only be on the track minimal (Maybe just for fun to see my time if anything).
I'm open to advice, suggestions, and criticism if need be.

Thanks in advance!

- Ty

EDIT: I forgot (again) to mention that the car will be used as a DD, but I still want to have enough under the hood to beat other cars I meet on the road.

I would suggest slapping a turbo on the reni...your goal can be reached spending less than your 9k mark. Lot less hassle/headache

1st. You talk about street racing around here and you will be banned. read the forum rules.

2nd. your not gonna find anyone here who will hold you hand and walk you through anything.

3rd. what you are looking to achieve is not "big", special, or anything out of the ordinary.

4th. everything you need to know is on this forum, multiple times. how bout you read up and learn what you're getting into instead of asking others to be responsible for you.

******* christ, no wonder society is becoming dependant on government "entitlement" and care..

Wow you sir are ignorant.
1st: street racing: my apologies
2nd: did I say my numbers were big or special to you? No. so back off.
3rd: did I ask anyone to walk me through anything? No. read the ******* post better.
Finally: take your head out your *** and stop trying to be keyboard cocky when i'm asking for simple opinions. It's not that hard of a thing to do. Whatever your problem is, cut out the attitude.
I know information is here. But opinions is what I'm looking for ********.

Oh and as for others being responsible for me? I had to take myself to the hospital three weeks ago and drop off parents on the way. Only to find out I have MS. so now I have to deal with having a fatal disease as well as take care of my family and my parents on top of it.
Maybe you should know what your talking about before saying anything.

but this thread is just one of a hundred asking the same question.

spend some time reading the various turbo build threads and you will find that 300 whp is the "norm" currently with the stock engine. there's no need for an engine swap for that number.

get the proper turbo (read the threads to find out which one ) , tuning ,make sure you run good 93 octane fuel. stop street racing before you kill someone.
