Who has a turbo, and how long have you had it?

I've been reading through each post here trying to figure out what to do.

I'd like to know who has a turbo installed, what issues you've had and how long you've had it.

I've been doing some reasearch and it seems the E-manage is a cause for a lot of problems. Aparantly when you tune it on a dyno, it runs fine until the RX8's ECU re-learns itself and the tune you had is gone in a few hundred miles and the car runs like garbage again.

The Interceptor-X sounds like a really good product, but it's also a bit pricey. I dont mind paying for quality, it definately seems like a good deal.

BUT, I want to know directly from the people with the kits what issues you've had with the stock map from greddy, or more importantly with a custom tune on your e-manage.

Maybe the E-manage ultimate would be a cheaper solution to the problems?

I should mention I would like 260 (maybe 270) hp out of the car with the kit. Please let me hear your thoughts, Im all ears.

When I put the greddy kit on it was a noticeable difference but it would fall on its face in the higher rpms and the car wouldn't go past 130mph..........
Then I put MazdaManiacs Map on the E-Manage and it was night and day, the car was alot faster and I got it up to 158 mph...ran out of road...not a public road of course. I've had the kit for about 5,000 miles. I pretty much don't use boost at all when I'm driving unless you pull up to a 98 Z28 and blow him away! Very good kit if you ask me...

Real clever

Im trying to decide weather its worth trying to deal with the emanage or just spend the extra money and get the Interceptor X.

If you have nothing helpful to say I suggest you just not say anything.

try the emanage first, some people like it, then decide if you want to upgrade to the interceptor. It is very little extra effort to install the emanage and then swap it out for the interceptor as they are both plug and play.

??? why not go with the interceptor first that way you have it when you go with a turbo instead of spending money on an emanage, and then having to sell it and then buy the interceptor whenever you do move up to the turbo. I would buy the interceptor after see results on how it fairs with a NA engine, and then once you upgrade to the turbo, you already have the interceptor to push for more power.

The Greddy Kit comes with the emanage. You can not buy the kit without it... so your not really losing anything by trying it out first.

are there a lot of people on the forums w/ the greddy & interceptor? I have read that you can get up to 300whp, but has anyone successfully done this?

The interceptor was just released and the first batch is being sent out the end of this month, so as of now only two people who went to Mazsport to get it, have it installed. One is the car in the video, the other is loube and he has yet to dyno.

Im glad to hear success stories. I assume you're running to completely stock greddy map with a stock car?

Also, I've been seeing this everywhere, wtf is a dongle?
