I have some things planned myself to do while he's gone but I can't say it's going to be a ton of progress to be honest.

I had some oil where the tranny and engine connect so I cleaned that out, seems I had another oil leak. Took off my insulation in my engine bay and cleaned it since it looked like ****. Also cleaned the undercarriage of my car since Ive had an oil leak for the last year. The entire underside of my car was covered in oil.
Cool, well now is the time to attack all that little stuff. That is what took so long on mine, it was so much more than just an engine swap and turbo kit install. You find all kinds of **** that needs attention.

^^^ Exactly, Its just so damn cold. Im gonna have to find a space heater... LOL.

Once with my old 8, my friend had a WWP and totaled it. His 8 was in the country at the shop, the shop gave us the go ahead to swap parts out etc. and to put them on mine (since mine happened to be WWP as well). So me and my buddy went out there at night since the shop left the gate open, it was 25F with 10-20mph straight-line winds. Sucked monkey nuts. Swapping the rear bumper took us 4-5 hours. We couldn't feel our hands and it was at night so we couldn't see either. Worst experience working on my car ever...

WTB good look with the build! I have a feeling this will be me within the next year even if my motor does not die.

Long shot but did you install/ fill your radiator yet?

I need a picture of the drain plug hole without the plug in, mine stripped out and I think it had a recessed bottom.

Thanks

Just getting back on it following my 3 week trip to Japan in Dec plus going to visit family for Thanksgiving & Xmas. We both also had to deal with some funeral issues too, and theres the demotivating weather issues to boot. Life threw us a bunch of curves.

We installed the radiator several weeks ago and I recently finished installing the RB oil line kit and new EPS harness. I am not a fan of it. Having to use the OE oil line brackets, which then makes the OE oil lines useless/non-sellable with the cheapo mounting clamps they supply is pretty lame.

Should start on building up the keg into a full engine tomorrow. The plug is in the radiator, but it is still empty since the engine isn't in yet. I will snap a pick when I'm down there. You will likely need to buy and install a helicoil to repair it.

.

It's threaded all the way through, RD will need to confirm the thread pitch & type.

Thanks, Somehow my plug came out with a stopper thread attached to the bottom hence why I think it stripped in the first place, threads are a little banged up but nothing a tap or a new plug wont thread into.

Now just have to find one the right size, the on it comes with looks like an AN plug.

More progress... Sorry for not keeping anyone up to date. It's been slow, but slow and steady wins the race right?!

Old Tein S.Techs replaced with new Progress Tech springs and dust boots.

Care to elaborate more, seems this has been down a while since last we saw. Complications?

personal/life complications mostly

there were a number of modifications, both engine and vehicle, which add complexity and time to the project. The Racing Beat oil cooler lines and header in particular were a headache to install.

Otherwise last night the car cranked right up and ran fine for the first time in 6 months. We have some follow up stuff to do tonight, but it was driven home and I haven't had an emergency phone call yet.

Only issue was when the oil cooler bypass kick in about 1.5 qts of oil got dumped onto the floor because Team Dufus forgot to go buy the wrench missing from his kit that was needed to fully tighten one of the engine oil cooler line connections. Of course there wasn't any oil dry handy. Pretty amazing how large an area 1.5 qts of fresh 0W40 oil will spread too ...

I'll leave it to the owner to expand on from here. My work is mostly done.

Seems to be doing well. Had a problem shifting, but it turned out to be the clutch pedal was adjusted too low. Had a new battery installed too.

OP has been busy with school and such, you will likely need to email or PM him ....
