Is your RX-8 Boosted or N/A?

TURBO'D My car is getting serviced today for the 2 current recalls and getting R flash as well. I am keeping my fingers crossed I don't have any additional negative issues running the turbo.

I had the 'R' flash done after I got the turbo on and it ran like crap after I got it back. One good thing is that it runs great without the CAT on anymore. I dont know what changed when I got that flash but it also hold a solid 4 psi to redline. It was hitting 7 and falling to 4ish but now it never hits above or falls below 4 psi. Good luck.

Moostafa,
One thing that I found was that the thermotec stuff is ****. It claims it can withstand 2000 deg F, but that's a load of crap. I used the same stuff. I even ordered the extra thick, delux model. The cloth part can probably withstand the 2000 deg., but the adhesive can't. The adhesive backing separates and then the cloth falls off. When I installed mine, I added some extra staying power by using a high temp epoxy from the makers of JB weld. You can find it at lowes. While this is not a perfect solution, it will help. Apply the epoxy on the edges of the thermotec. That way, when the adhesive fails, and it will, you will have at least some chance of getting the cloth part to stay put.
