6 Port

Hi all. There has been alot of talk about putting a manual into an automatic body. This requires alot of fabrication and footwork though. I was wondering if anyone had thought about putting a 6 port engine on an automatic transmission? It would give all of the performance of the 6 port without the interior modifications. Is it possible to fit a 6 port on an automatic trany and if so what extra work would be needed?

2006 and newer automatics are 6 port engines.

it wont bolt up "directly", i had this issue with a rebuild. You would need a diffrerent rear iron housing. My rebuilder took one housing off and added the new rear housing. Some builders might not do it, I dont know. They might take the whole shortblock apart and then you'll need new gaskets and everything. My builder took straps and strapped the engine as tight as he could and just removed 1 housing. Ask some of the rebuilders on here.

ok, now if you connect this engine to a 4speed automatic transmission you will have engine management problems.
