I just installed the MM base map for my 2004 A/T. Will do my 2 drive cycles tomorrow and data-log on thursday. I can not wait for MM to work his magic on my car.

1000 peeps have posted what the improvement is with the Cobb AP, and you want one more? How many friends test drove your car before you purchased it? If you haven't figured it out by now, each 8 is a different animal and each respond differently to any mod. Having an AP is a commitment and will need attention now and then by a competent tuner. If the $ is so tight you may need to consider another mod.

No need....it is your right to get as much info as you think you need. I just was reacting to so many of the same post. I need to stop reading these type of posts (or just keep my tiping fingers to my self)

I understand exactly what your sayin phil and what you were trying to get at, I just enjoy looking at things like this. I'm just a college student who still has a ton to learn so the more info I look at the more knowledgeable I become.

you are going to get a ton of answers here. One is: depends on all the other mods you have made to the car.

Well since the Cobb has been discontinued :/ the only way I'll be able to get one more than likely is going to be through eBay(don't get funds till around 7stock time) since all the ones on eBay are manual tuned, would I be able to get it retuned from MM after paying for the calibration cost of course?

Probably a really simple question, but if I buy a AP that says MT in the model number for Manual Transmission will it still work for the AT?

I believe it still works. The only time MT and AT matter is when you download the Race Tuner for your base map.

That sucks to hear you need to wait that long for an AP.
MM will still tune maps for you after paying the claribration fee. So not a problem there.

Yes. It's the maps contained therein that are the differance. The hardware is the same for either Rx-8 model.
Cobb didn't do any in-depth tuning for AT's and the AT crowd is a little smaller when it come to preformance mods. So they just stayed with the MT designation.

Ya 09Factor I'm hoping the prices will be more or less the same for them around that time. College funds take a while to come in so that's the reason for the wait. Kinda wish Cobb hadn't cut us off until after this year but we can't all get what we want :/

I'll be ordering the AP from MM on Monday. I plan on doing the BHR midpipe as well. I'll keep you guys posted on my results as well.

i'm probably going to make the next socal dyno day though and get a good tune then.

Were you guys able to feel a power difference with a midpipe and the MM tune? Just curious.
