AT6spd 1/4 time?

AT6spd 1/4 time?
I'm very curious about the 6spd AT 8. I hear how slow the 4port is, but what about the 6port AT? Please post time slip from the 1/4mile or 1/8mile track.
has anyone run the AT6spd against the MT?

I guess I'll have to post up some 1/4mile timeslip then.
I'll do 2 pass stock, then I'll run with my intake box open and exhuast cutout.
I also have a dry nos kit ready to install, but Charles told me wet would be better. I'll post that as well if I get the chance.

That is pretty bad of the AT6spd. I know this car isn't built as a drag car, but dammit it looks so fast and sexy, I can't help but to try to make it faster.
Gary, do you do anything different from the takeoff line? or just step on the gas?
Whenever I test the car from a dig run, I get better results when I step on the brake and gas at the same time during countdown. I think you should get a better takeoff time. Don't do it too often, LOL, tires are expensive.
BTW, are we allowed to post vid of racing? I want to show the ATrx8 line up against MS6, rsx typeS, and hopefully a 350z by this wkend.

Plus theres a bigger loss of horsepower through the drivetrain with the AT.
In all reality if you too a 6AT (reflashed to shift at 9K) against a 6MT from 10 - 100, the 6AT wouldnt be THAT MUCH slower.

From personal experience
The 6 A/T beat the 4 A/T from a dead stop in high end around 3rd gear - the 6 M/T began to pull away from the 6 A/T around the beginning of 3rd gear - (granted, all of us are pretty much stock w/the exception of a midpipe and an intake)
I'm guessing with a decent brake launch you could crack mid to low 15's w/some decent bolt on's and tuning

That's what I really want to show. I want to record a clip showing the diff in power between MT and AT6spd. I would like to see where the power difference is and what MoDs us AT guys can do to match or beat the MT.
So far, my open intake box and exhuast cutout has proven to produce great results. I am still looking locally for NA MT rx8 to do a few test runs.
*on a side note, I read the Alzor's nitrous post recently and lemme tell you, I'm not in a hurry to install my nos kit. he didnt even have it for 3 weeks and it seems like his motor is blown after 2 bottles.

Where are you located?
BTW- a 4port with a greddy kit dynos at 185-200 rwhp and an NA MT dynos at 185.
If that helps you compare, the 6P has a little more power however.

right now, my goal is to have the AT6spd match or beat the NA MT without using nos. i think from a roll of 20 or 40mph, the cutout will help me on high end to match the MT. that is why I want to test it before I add any major upgrade to it.

From a stop, you wont beat an MT with all the bolt ons available simply because your car cannot launch and has no torque or power until 5500 rpms. You may be able to keep up with MT's from a roll possiby.

Heres a video to help with comparison.
4 port AT vs 6port MT
Granted, yours is a 6 spd auto; you get the idea.

bolt on's are definately not enough (excluding bolt-on turbo of course) perhaps the AP can help you tho - with the correct maps and tuning w/some solid mods (race pipe and exhaust) you may be able to close in on the gap a little -
#21
Yeah, but the 4-port with a turbo will have more torque across the rev range than the NA 6-port. Hence why it can make the same or a little better hp with a lower redline.

Everyone has to remember, its all about the inability to launch that makes the At's so much slower, not the horsepower.

I have an '07 MT.
If you want to do 1/4 mile run at raceway park I've been wanting to take mine out to get a good baseline.
I'm in Houston Texas too btw.

I'm not stock. I have Koni shocks, racingbeat springs, Dunlup star spec tires, and an RP shifter. On the other hand I have a transmission that sometimes doesn't like to shift, spark plugs that don't look so good, and I seem to not pull as hard as friend's RX-8 when he had 2 faces of his rotor with low compression.
I also know how to launch and when to shift. If you have a friend who wants to record it I wouldn't mind.

That wasnt the point of my post. Op is saying he wants to slap some bolt ons on an AT and be quicker than an MT, and I was pointing out how a boosted 4 port may still be slower than an MT.
