Auto tranny upgrade?

Damn, this reminds me of the good 'ol days of the forum.
Thanks Guys!
So someone correct me if i'm wrong, but are not all of our exhaust ports are the same?
bse50< i get where you are going with the # of ports equating with amt of flow.
Can anyone point me to the data of the max flow of a 4 port intake design? I cannot remember if i had seen one or not.
as for Phil's statement about the stock tranny still holding up. Yea, there is a lot to be said about running a propper ATF.. The OE **** cannot take the heat and fails. I know from first hand it may last a dyno session. I need my bonus check to buy new stuff.
Thanks Guys!

We did run Jamaals Rx-8 with the aux ports closed, turning it into a 4 port engine..
See attached dyno, its 300rwhp @ 11psi... Yes I know there will be more drive-train loss with an auto, nothing 2 or 3 more psi won't fix.
That engine survived that for over 10 hours of dyno tuning, and close to 60+ pulls.
I also did 25 + street pulls, and the owner drove it 800 miles home to CO, around home for a few weeks, and then another 800 miles back to our shop. He told me he beat the living **** out of it.

You do realize the 4 ports exhaust ports are smaller plus the drivetrain loss as mentioned.
Also the most one of these engines has seen is 280 whp and I don't believe that was repeatable.
Keep cranking up the boost I guess...

Find a legit shop and do 20B swap and call it a day. lol
OE 20B-REW comes with AT.
If it's close to 50grand, then you are looking at the wrong shop.
And it should be 450rwhp EASILY.

The port difference is mentioned. High power renny, standard power (4 port) and rew. Page 4 again
