BigBadChris and the little turbo RX8

I am getting ahead of myself. What I am taking away from this is that high psi will blow my stock seals into jagged little pieces. Obviously alloy is the way to go in a turbo motor, but that's all I know.

Williard, I was under the same impression. Brettus, thank you for your information. If I were to run my turbo at higher pressure, obviously detonation is a problem. That means water methanol, and an upgraded fuel pump, to make sure we dont go lean. Water methanol means a better ignition system. Am I leaving anything out? (Besides a rebuild once I blow my engine up)

I agree, Dan. It was on my list, but it was backordered (of course they let me buy the damn thing, charge my credit card, then tell me it's backordered!), and we simply ran out of time. I am hoping that the 93 octane here in Texas is good enough for low psi. Hopefully once Ari at RX7.com gets his dyno running again, we can install water injection. If it's good enough for his red white and blue rx7, it's good enough for me!

The actual intercooler efficiency/outlet temperature will impact it a lot. You can't just assume his results will be the same as yours. Might be worse, same, or better just depending on a variety of factors. It's a tight bousing, but also a large turbo. You only just got a large turbo. That's a big difference from your modified Greddy experience, which had a small turbine. To the best of my knowledge you haven't run a tight housing on the large turbo you just upgraded too.
