Decidedly Unscientific Comments on Supercharged HP Auto
I just got picked up to go to breakfast by someone driving a super charged hp auto. It was the starter flash in the PCM with ZERO tuning and it was kind of neat. The car ran pretty well and the auto definitely added something to the experience. If you get a chance, take a ride in one. I think you will be surprised.
They are supposed to head to the dyno with it tonight for some tuning. If I can get some of their data, I’ll post it here so we can see what kind of mixtures they are running and what the HP curves look like.

Cam has sold several units to customers that do not use this forum and some of those could be a/ts but when I tried to contact some of them they would not answer the emails so I just quit trying.

It was the BP green machine and I am going to show my age here. I had to hide in the car as it was a little over the top for my taste. That being said, the car felt good. Cam gave me the OK to post data and dyno plots which, with luck, I will have tomorrow.
This was picked by my five year old and not me----

Jason's right, the taxes would suck. I think for stuff you win, like lottery money or objects, you pay 33% tax to the IRS. So if this car is valued around $45,000, that's nearly $15k out of your pocket. Then you would have a b!tch of a time selling it for $20k, so you wouldn't even make a profit. Only good if you want to keep it.

you're right though, if you like the paint job and want to keep the car, it's a decent deal.
the problem is that they likely hired some designer to paint and redo the interior and that guy charged $30,000 for the work.
30k for the car, 10k for mods.

Did you really get a ride in this car? What was it like? I believe I won this, but I don't have it yet. (supposed to be this week, but thats what Ive been told for the last 3 weeks). I also am old! (relatively). So far ive only seen pictures and a couple articles on the build. The BP logos are being removed with the "helios" which are what the sunflowers are called. Maybe I'm too old for this, but I still can't wait to feel the SC kick in!

Looking at pictures of the present paint job was killing me.

I didn't buy it (so to speak) I won it! My wife likes green ,so maybe it will be OK. If I can afford the "gift" tax to the IRS, I'll get some feedback from you guys on what color to paint it. It was originally gray with sand interior. I haven't seen it in real life yet, only in the promos and a couple web sites that featured the build.

This is a weird paint job (notice the people in the back ground, just adds to the weird factor). Though it makes some sense for getting any kind of attention for a company. However, for personal use, this ain't so cool. However, paint job aside, it is actually a cool looking car. Give it the right paint job and your "stylin".
I think you might do a poll if you want our input, on the colors. I'm leaning on keeping the two tone design. Maybe Silver/Gray with Black hood or just Silver/Gray. I always wanted to see a paint job in the middle of those 2 (Silver and Gray) for the RX-8.
Here is a picture to get the color scheme in mind, but this paint job is "crazy too" (especially the lights on the roof) and not something for personal use, but just for a company or display. Put I like that silver and black color scheme, more so if it was just the two distinct colors without logos, etc...

I tried to post a reply last week, but it must have disappeared into cyberspace. Yep, I think silver/black or gray/black would look right. You drive an auto? How is it? Will it handle the supercharger? Thanks for the reply, I'm new at this internet thing, and I didn't know what to expect.
