it doesn't really feel any different throughout any range. I don't know about you but 5.5K isn't much different than 3K

Are you kidding? Of course it does. The feeling at 5.5k is way more intense than 3k. The car practically jumps foward at 5.5k, but that's also where the feeling levels off, and I wish it kept going. Are you serious about it not feeling different throughout the range? If you are, your car needs service.

I drove the 2006 6sp and I have the 2004 4sp. The 2006 AT is NOT a 6-port, it is a 4-port. It is not the same engine. That's why it doesn't go to 9k RPM.

An experienced Manual driver can shift faster than any of these ATs can. I can, and I'm not even that experienced in MT. My friend can beat the hell out of me in terms of shift speed, so I have much to learn, but I'm still faster than the auto.

Don't believe anything the salesman says.

OK I have to jump in here.

The MT6 is the most fun in the 6k to 9k range. I would spend all my time there if I though I could afford it and get away with it.

Manuals are more fun. Feathering the clutch and practicing the tough 1-2 shift is fun also.

I love the tertiaries kicking in at 6k!

Now if life stops for you at 5k then you have a four port, or your car has a problem.

6000 rpm or so is where the engine comes to life!

Everything before that was foreplay... and now you can compare the beep to... (shift and let's do that again!).

haha, give your girl the auto and that'll give you reason to go get the manual.

The 2006 AT is the 6port engine. That's how they are getting the extra 15 or so HP. We have pictures that proves it posted here somewhere. The ECU still places the limitation on the car to protect the cat/tranny.

It seems the info flows to the auto owners a lot slower... this part of the forum has the most misinformed members... and wat the hack... just listen to others man and why are you saying u need to see dyno graphs of the 6 speed manual... the HP at 8500 is a LOT higher than the HP at 5500... perhaps ur butt dyno needs some tweaking.

Or maybe you could word your argument a little better? I guess it could be because of the linear acceleration, and at 5500 it STARTS to accerlerate at a rate that is a lot higher than prior to 5500rpm? now this is true. and why dont you feel more after 5500rpm? coz its linear, just look at the dyno graph, and if ur arguing power, the renesis peaks at 8500...

and stop arguing on the stupid F1 semiautomatic.. just how constructive this argument is wow.... F1 has cluthes, and is operated by a computer, YOU have a torque converter, enough said.

Yeah I agree with most of your words but I still think even in the MT, the car jumps hard at 5.5k rpm's then just peaks and gets loud up until 8.5k rpm's. I wish it kept pulling harder to match the noise. When I test drove the MT I found myself shifting high to keep the rpm's up in the next gear, not to feel the pull in the high rpm's cause there isn't much after 5.5k rpm's.
