Got Cai/exhaust So Whats Next(without Fi)

not much. flywheel, pulley, midpipe andddd that's about it. short shifter will make your shifts a little shorter but the only way to go faster is FI or get a car with a V8.

light weight rims
3" catback
lightweight flywheel
underdriven pulley
you can also strip down the car to lighten it.
your cai isn't going to do much.

thats ok i did the same thing when i first opened the thread but to the OP basically what everyone else said for NA:
pulleys
high flow cat/straight pipe
lightweight wheels
accessport from mazdamaniac
something else to cut the weight would be a big brake kit(lighter calipers and rotors)
you have an intake and catback already

So I think i'm going to order a single resonated high flow mid pipe. Hopefully it won't be to loud. I'm trying to get the most power without going FI. If you guys know anyone selling one or know a good deal out there please feel free ro let me know. Thanks for the input.

Keep in mind that some have reported a pretty bad smell when running without a cat, just in case that is a concern to you. But I would think it would give you less backpressure and more power than a high flow cat.

Talk to Ray (Charles R Hill) about nitrous. He seems to have by far the most experience around here with it.
It is much cheaper to get up and running than other types of FI, but it is not suitable for track days and/or autocross if you are concerned about power for that. If you are just concerned about it for the street or the drag strip, seems like several people have had good luck around here with it. But if you bought the 8 primarily as a drag car, you could have done much better with something else

MDW1000 How is that mazsport intx working out? What kind of gain did you get from it? Did you have to do anything extra to make it work on your AT?

All I really had to do was get a basemap from Scott at Mazsport. I have tweaked it a little bit for my specific car with his advice/recommendations. Just the fuel - I don't touch the timing. It was running a tad bit lean at WOT initially, so I richened it up per Scott's direction.
I haven't taken it in for a pro tune yet. I'm hoping to go FI, so I don't want to spend money twice on the tune. Since I'm running a very safe and conservative map, I'm not too worried about it. I did pick up some noticeable power and throttle response with the base map.
I know Scott said he can typically get 20whp out of the 4-ports with a custom tune. I know that was the result than invasion08 saw with his 4-port.

I would just go FI. With all the money your going to throw at it, you're going to be roughly halfway there. (in price) If I was a betting man, I'd bet once you do everyone of these suggestions above, you're still going to be looking for more power, which leaves you with FI.
Save yourself a lot of frustrations, and first do ALOT of research about FI, and then if applicable, use that money for FI, and you'll get WAY more bang for your buck.
