no good header designs out there really. both the low and high power engines have 3 exhaust ports. there's a couple sets of headers out there, from japan. probably won't get more than 5-6 hp out of them with the 4 port engine however(if that). alot more research is needed for a proper design, but even a 'good' set isn't going to gain a whole lot of power, without force feeding the engine.

a midpipe on the other hand is proven to gain some power(not a ton, but some). can get loud though :D

Here's a brief sampling. RE Amemiya makes one for the auto, but I think they all work just fine.

There aren't any good headers currently out right now, especially for the amount that they cost. As Nemesis said you are better off with a good hi-flow cat or midpipe (that is the part that is in front of your cat back exhaust system, so it will fit your cat back unit), or getting a Canzoomer (piggyback ECU unit) air/fuel controller. If you want any decent hp gains. A header or air intake will do nothing (noticeable) for you.

as of right now, there arn't really any good header designs out. i know of a few companies that are working on them though. both the auto and manual versions of the rx8 have three exhaust ports. the only headers that are out right now are straight off the boat from japan, but you probably wont get much more than 6 horsepower out of them with the four port engine design of the rx8.

more research will tell if a better design comes, but even a really good set wont gain much power without some proper forced induction. a midpipe gains alot of power though, and is pretty loud...if thats alright with you.

But if I did order the JDM headers would they fit my car? or would it only fit one or the other automatic or manual?

I think you can only get 4 HP from a header. That's why we need the price to come down.
