HKS Intake

Hey Touge: please don't start multiple threads about the same thing. (it's a major "no no" around here)
The answers you seek is in your original thread. (XdeedubbX is THE hks EXPERT on our forum)

it's only been tested on manual, but it has been installed on automatics without issue.
whether or not you lose power on the auto... i dunno, but i highly doubt it. in any case, brgreen's hks intake + espelir exhaust dyno'd much higher than a stock auto.

I had the HKS in my 04 AT for about a day, so it certainly installs just fine. However...
- I pretty much kissed what little torque the RX-8 had to begin with goodbye.
- It was one of the most disgusting sounding intakes I've ever heard in my life for an import car. I suppose it's fine if you want your high revving RX-8 to sound like an incredibly loud bassy truck. That's pretty much what all my friends thought it sounded exactly like, and I had to agree with them. At low RPMs it sounded exactly like a truck with a modded intake, and redline sounds like a swarm of angry gnats coming after you. Stomping on the gas at a cruise produces a very obnoxious bassy "mooing" noise that me and my friends had a laugh at doing to every car that passed by me on the highway. It was just plain silly and completely did not fit the high revving nature and character of the car.
- I couldn't go back to stock fast enough.
