Interceptor X qustion

I just installed my Interceptor in my AT 8 and I had one question im sure someone out there can answer. I was wondering How you change the RPMs since its set at 7000 now which is below stock and I was wonder how u set it to 8000?

The top map point is set at 7000 but this doesn't mean that it isn't supplying fuel above that point. It is. It just supplies the same amount of fuel per rpm above that point. You don't want to change this setting. Your engine doesn't go much higher than that anyways and with the last map point being this close, you are still getting the required fuel up to the limit. Leave it alone.

Don't try to take your engine up to 8000. You powerband is falling off anyways so you have nothing to gain from it. Definitely not any more power. You also aren't changing when your transmission shifts so you couldn't take advantage of it even if you did have the ability to go this high. The rev limit is set lower on the AT cars than the MT cars to save the transmission and torque converter. They aren't designed to go up this high and doing so could shorten their life and cause premature failure.

Your best option would be to leave the settings alone as far as rpm go and be content with the current rev limit and map points. They are already the best for your application.

Brillo has an Interceptor on his RX-8. I get to drive his car on a regular basis. The Interceptor has made a big difference for daily drivability on his MT. I see no reason why it wouldn't have a similar effect on an AT. You should be able to get a peak power increase but more importantly get a gain over a wider area. You should also be able to tune in for low octane fuel as well as a mileage increase. I see no reason why it can't have the same effect on your engine as the higher power engines. Maybe just on a smaller scale but the gains in percent between the two engines should be comparable.
