Knightsports Supercharger Kit
#176
Hey Phil & Old Dragger
Thanks for your interest!
I prob wont be satisfied with 230hp, but it is a DD car, i don't want to get too greedy.
However on the other hand, i have already began looking for a Series 8 FD Spirit R for a weekend/track project, i'll get my kicks out of that!
Regards
Jason

Ok we have completed the mock up install.
Reason for doing so is because we believe the kit can be *improved upon* in terms of brackets.
At the current moment the Intercooler is not fixed to the body but rather held by the 2 intercooler pipes. We have decided to fabricate up a enclosure at the bottom of the intercooler to hold the intercooler and a better air diversion plate to ensure more air goes from the duct straight to the air filter. At the moment the inter cooler receives about 1/2 of the cold air from the duct, and the the filter receives about 1/2.
We are also looking at better bracket for the supercharger oil cooler and duct.
Also ignition leads shows signs of wear, which we will replace with longer ones and route differently so nothing rubs.
Coil bracket is fine
Attached a few photos of the mock up

Yes you can try contact Access Autoworks or now known as ARC Designs.
Located in Mitcham, then dont have any of the ergo2 in black, but they have 2x ergo 2 in red, i think they may be out of rails though.
They also stock a wide range of bride seats

Just got back from the Dyno, the SC is on and tuned
We went with a rather conservative tune of around 12 A/F, 7PSI of boost.
With my screwed up Borla exhaust (replacement under warranty coming in the mail)
I achieved 150.6kw at rear wheels 201.9hp
Before nay sayers out there start bashing the kit, let me remind you from my initial kw of 90.3 kw at rear wheels 121.05hp, the increase was incredible and what i wanted from initial installation and tune, without R&D
Future Plans?
We are going to begin fabrication of a new custom water-air intercooler that is enclosed, and attached to it we are going to enclose the air filter as well, a new duct may be fabricated up to get more air flow going.
Depending on the gains from there, and if safe, we are going to change the crank pulley for a bit more boost (9-10 psi)
In the mean time, i am more then happy with the result, the car feels like a great drive and i am happy with it!
Thanks for your interest in the thread, i will update with some videos and final installation photo when everything else is touched up.

Hi Brettus
yea pop it on there if you wish to,
However it isnt quite the final run, as we have a fair bit of RnD to go
Including as listed higher boost, colder intake temp, much cold intercooler.
I am also trying to close a deal on a 20,000km 4port auto engine today,
which will get a treatment by Xtreme Rotary
Looking at balancing, isotropical finish, apex seals
Maybe even some porting work as done by phil
then going to up the boost to 10 psi
and see how we go

Anyways
I got my car back and my side skirt refitted (after repairs)
I turn out to a main road and stop at a traffic light.
This black rx8 rolls up next to me, sees my gauges and my paddles and decides to have a bit
of fun laughing at me with his girlfriend, terms such as (auto ***, ricer etc came out).
He gives me a few revs and yells out "how many hp does your gauges give ya" , i reply, "why dont you give it a shot"
Needless to say i ripped him, and at the next light his window was up and music was on loud.
That made me feel so happy inside :D and justified the cost then and there
