oil catch can

well ive looked all around for an oil catch can, i understand that about 50% use a filter on theirs but the only thing is i have a stock 05 rx-8 a/t, 4,000 ? on new engine. iam getting one, iam going with one that goes back to the intake accordian port. thing is as much serching as ive done, it seems like 50% block off the intake on the accordian, & the others dont. all i need to know is should i use one with baffles, and or a screan & filter? and how do i know if there is a one way check valve on the filters. ive seen the page with all the diffrent set ups, and iam lost! could someone please tell me if iam better off with a filter on the can or not. thanks for any reply. ...larry

You don't need a check valve in either implementation.
You only need to block off the intake accordion port if you go with the Air Filter vent to atmosphere solution. In this case you need to cap the intake port to prevent a massive vacuum leak.
