RB flash for ATs?
#3
RB "is not interested" in developing any service or flash just for the a/t market and you can check with Jim at racing beat if you do not believe me. The current flash is only for m/t 8s. This has been discussed numerous times on this forum.

just a greddy turbo....cus all the other ones are like......expensive as hell, and I read up that the greddy, you can upgrade and get like 16 psi......just want like 250-260 whp

You may just wish to wait for the flash tools that are being developed. It sounds like you'd be expecting big power increases from an emanage. You'd be disappointed as the maximum you'd get would be 20HP. Yes you'd get rid of the rev limiters but you will not be able to shift at a higher limit with your a/t with out causing a/t problems.
If you want reasonable power increase for the least cost then the Greddy is your best choice. Use the Greddy emanage system also (if you can find anyone to help you tune it). As long as you keep it as designed it will do a good job for you. If you want a screaming monster then look elsewhere or you will just hurt your car. Mazport seems to have the most aggressive turbos and Scott uses the X for his emanage.

-Tajabaho, i seem to be headed in the same direction - what i'd like to know is 250-260 reachable for a 6spd AT w/a greddy t/c and int-x. and would it be safe for a daily driver?
...can someone lend me their flame suit please....i forgot mine at work...

I will never, in my life use an e-manage ever ever EVER again, (rsx-s did not bold well, and I didn't do jack to it, just came with teh turbo)
I was thinking more along the lines of INT-X, also, if the pettit was ever to become cheaper, I'd probably chuck out the 1-2k more for it than the greddy, just because I like pettit racing more than greddy

I have a KNIGHTSPORTS 4BEAT REflash on mine
My 4AT was the 1st they had done in Japan apparently.
Runs lean (14.0:1) at low rpm than clears up to 12.5:1 as the revs rise. Side benifit of the leaner mix is the excellent fuel consumption the car now gets for City & Hwy modes.
They are developing a better program on a development car then want my ECU back to RE-flash it.
Contact them via e-mail after they do mine again in a few weeks

However the KNIGHTSPORTS people said that the low load & low RPM wont be an issue for the engine. The "Atmo" 13B-MSP engine is more tolerant to a leaner mix than the previous "turbo" 13B-REW they said.
They did say there was more power & torque to be found in the mid range once they re-do the program so this current mode wont be a full time thing.

I've had it drummed into my head: lean = detonation. MazdaManiac is the expert in matters like this. If he does not chime into this discussion, I'll ask him when I see him in a couple of weeks about this flash and the leaner low end. I think that when (or if) the flash tools finally come out we will see a lot of detonated engines will the foolish experimenting.
