tajabaho1, Get a Holinger tranny from well Holinger!. If you need to know the 2 types they make let me know I'll post the PDF. They make 2 right now that will fit our car, 1 handles up to 550+hp the other 350+hp Or they can custom builtd them for your HP needs or you can get the 350+hp one and upgrade the already dog gears, gears for more power. Let me know if you need the tech contact info. This with Rays rear and the Mazsport will be my set up. Maybe some other mods too who knows
Just keep in mide not to may AT Cars out there right now have the FI options that we have and thats a fact. Thats 1 reason why we dumped the 3GEclipse.
If it makes you feel any better go read what I posted in HERE!

hallo? testing testing, I just got infraction on the web(?.?) anyways,
jedi, I took out the tranny and had to replace my flexplate because it was fucked to the core (got one from mazdatrix) and I took out the clutch pack which is probably the reason why( and I dont even know if anyone else has my problems) when I manually shift gears and let go of the gas, let it shift THEN press the gas again, it makes that wierd pushy feeling (mine looks beatened and went through WW2) I'm trying to do some more stuff on it, but need to be next month, I'm broke for this month, +the money I have to save up for the No2 installation

If you have a 6 or 4 speed AT I would not try to sound like a MT and let off the gas well the gears are shifting. That just don't sound right. I keep my foot on the gas. Might shift at a high rpm than a norm AT cars but I still keep on it.
My 2cents.

I shift when I let go of the gas and coming to a stop =.=
Idk, its just a habbit, I definitly dont try to look like an MT since when I'm "ahem" *CRUISING* I actually use the paddle shifters, they are wayyyy faster than shifting with your ****

and dom, what tranny is that? I dont really want to get a custom tranny, I just want to reinforce mine, and I'm that kinda guy who does everything himself.......you know, installing and modding the car, and I like this tranny, it looks like its got alotta potential, its just so watered down that it sucks.......

Are you sure about that after market trans working in the 8? When contacted earlier they were only guaranteeing use in the 7s due to the 8s pcm. They told me, several months ago, that there was no hurry for the 8s and most likely would not even be looked at for another year.

can't we just try to reinforce this one? the housing is pretty much very durable, the only sad part are the internal components being very fragile and mostly made of aluminum sheets or something.......

I believe we can, but aluminum still may be the metal of choice (and $). I think that most of those "fragile parts" will not be necessary to change as they are not directly related to torque or pressure. Keep in mind that, very simply put, the transmission is just a series of "pumps" (and again simply put) so most of the shifting changes will be to the "pumps". Now the torque converter is another animal but also achievable. All these changes have to be afordable - right now for $10,000.00 you can have a custom trans buit that will work with your PCM, can you aford it?

Hell I was born in LB and still have family in the area but I left 45 years ago and only come back for Seven Stock and family emergencies. Remember what I said earlier that innovation will win the day. I'm kinda old school and may not think like you will. It is possible that what I think is impossible you will see differently. If we talk in other than generalities I may influence your thinking and stop something that may have worked. The only thing that I would point out is that it does not have to be built to resemble a tank and needs to be very light. It also needs to be affordable.

I was thinking more along the lines of an APC, I mean, it doesn't have to withstand bullets, just a massively hot spinning engine..........
and regardless of you influencing me or not, I highly believe that your knowledge would probably save me from doing alot of stupid ****, and I might hit jackpot someday

If your so great (and I'm not saying that you think your not) then what are you doing on an a/t only thread. Please take your m/t only mentality back to the appropriate threads and talk a little s**t to others. There are plenty of good racers on the appropriate forums that will "talk to you". Some of us are not trying to be snobby racers, just week-enders having a little fun with our "lowly" a/ts

lol, one more thing I found out btw, our tranny is compatible with a lockout torque converter, or so the tranny expert guy told me, and he said because our cars have shitty torque, he said if we get a lockout or amplifying torque convert (what ever the hell that is) we can have even more torque and possibly tolerate 9k rpm on a daily basis, what do you think phil?
