add an ebay turbo kit and your car will most certainly explode just like a ferrari.

So of all the rx8 owners on this site noone has ever came across a shift kit, transbrake, performance torque converter or paddle shift kit for the rx8?

Sounds like your looking to make a 1/4 mile car out of it.
09Factor has discussed a shift kit for the AT. I don't think a trans brake is really needed.
Maybe a high stall torque converter. But unless you can get 400 HP out of the 4 port then there is no need for it. Also "Paddle Shifters"?

If you want improved trans performance your going to have to find a shop that deals with that. And ask them what they can do for you. No one has really gone into it in depth. Kinda costly. But if money is no object then go ahead and let us know what you come up with.
I have an AT and I'm happy with mine. It's faster than a 6 port MT.

All jokes aside man, new "Paddle Shifters" arent going to make you much faster... your going to want a whole new transmission to to make it shift faster etc. Im not a expert but I DO KNOW that it will be too costly to mess with when the paddle shifters work fine... its the transmisson and torque converter you will want to mess with. Long story short is you should have gone with a manual... but if you love your auto 8 like I do its fine, but as for performance you should start with exhaust and a intake probably. Racing Beat makes a very nic Revi intake with a cold air duct... in reality your not going to get much power from anything unless you drop a turbo in there and thats 10 grand including good tuning etc. So start slow... and research... Good luck...

IMO, the most cost effective route to speed here is to make continuous trips to the Dodge dealer and by parts for a Challenger. Then come home and exchange every Challenger part that you have, for a part on your car.

Keep doing this until you have a stock Challenger. Then go to the strip.

Hopefully, this will keep you busy enough that you dont post here.

Dude you should've just bought a drag car cuz you're never gonna attain what you're looking for with a 4 port auto 8.

The shift kit is in the process of testing by a couple of different tranny shops. 4ports can't develop enough power for a trans break to do any good. Yes a high stall torque converter could be of use if your going to use your 8 on the 1/4 mile but uncomfortable for a daily driver. My suggestion is be happy with what you have. Our tranny is extremely strong. While I don't treat my tranny like Easy_1 does, mine does get put thru hell.

I already have a drag car, a 68 dodge coronet superbee with a big block and making 750 hp on spray. What I am trying to do with the 8 is make a quick 0-60 type street car. I am more than likely going to go with the zex nitrous kit, intake, cobb, and straight pipe it for added power. I want a car that I can transbrake at 7k and launch hard and not get embarassed by a toyota camry.

fail

old thread but i just have to say it

you guys fail to realize what he's trying to say. I think he just wants more out of the whole power. I thought about going to a transmission shop on several ocations just to see if they can do something to my tranny to get me out the whole but just never had the time. What i was thinking was maybe and torque convert but then again my guess came in. How come no company decided to make one for the auto 8. With all the auto 8 owners out there that basically just don't want to get embarrased at the light by a stock v6 90 model camaro **hint hint** this could really be a cash cow for them. PPl are really willing to spend money for this just wondering?

What?!? Baby-Jebuzz-on-a-stick, was that ENGLISH? My eyes a jittering from trying to read that pitiful excuse for a paragraph. Do you have instances of consecutive coherent thoughts or are you perpetually distracted by shiny things?

4-speed 4-port rx8's are literally the worst cars ever made. My grandma's chrysler sebring is faster than it. Basically, racing a 6-speed manual 6-port in one would be like if Lance Armstrong used a bmx bike in the tour de france. 2nd gear goes from 20 to 80

WHY?!?!
