*NOT* burning oil... is that a problem?

I read all over these boards about how much oil RX-8's burn, etc, etc... but, I have noticed after owning my car for a couple months (I'm to my second oil change now) that I do *NOT* burn oil. It has me a little bit concerned, with how much it's mentioned that you really need to keep an eye on the oil level in an 8.

Possibly relevant facts:
-Regular oil changes (got it at 18k, dealership puts a fresh oil change in every car they sell, I've personally changed it at 21 and 24k)
-04 AT
-24k miles
-I've switched to MobileOne synthetic oil
-NapaGold oil filter
-I do everything that's recommended... don't rev above 3k rpm before she's warm, redline once a day, etc etc.

Not "none" but the most common feedback I see is about a quart and a half between oil changes is the norm. I think I went through maybe... a quarter of a quart?

I push her hard, once she's to temperature. I rev her up before I turn it off if I don't get to temperature.

as long as you drive like a baby, you barely see a dent in the level. i had the same concern for a while. but as soon as you get rev high happy, it drops. ive noticed that if i drive hard, i burn quicker...but this is based on my own experience.

I never have to add oil after 3000 miles. If I continue to 6000 miles, I have to add half a quart. My car is almost 100,000 miles now.

I would say somewhere around 1/2 to 1 quart per 3,000 miles sounds about normal. I seem to get about 1 quart per 3k.

The OMP adjusts based how you drive it, so of course if you coast around most of the time, your oil will not burn as much.

If your OMP isn't working, people said within 30 miles or so, your engine would die. So yours apparently is functional

Just redline your car in regular basis. At least twice a day and you will see difference in the oil consumption !

Doing just local driving and commuting I average between 1000-1200 miles per quart. Strictly highway around 3000. So a lot depends on what kind of driving you do. In stop and go traffic the engine will turn over many, many more times per mile than cruising at 65.
