A local drag strip is opening up the drag strip track to the public twice a week for 1/4mile and 0-60 LEGAL drag racing. I just wanted to see how the stock RX8 matches up with other cars. So here is what I found. (I was suprised by the ones underlined and in bold)

that info is as usefull as a hot steaming turd, when you go to the drags it all depends on the driver. And i know our car is slower than a s2000

 

P.S C&D did 7k clutch dumps to get thoes numbers, and if you plan on doing 7k dumps. Well I'll see you in the Issues and Problems section

His data is relevant, real world and empirical.

not a 2003 s2000....thats the whole point of me posting this is that different models are tuned differentlly. There were times for the 2004+ Honda S2000...but that was the head to head times for the 2003 vs the rx8...numbers dont lie.

And actually i think this info is quite usefull....b/c now i know that i have the opportunity to run a good race against a 93 s4 or a certain yr where the BMW M3 was weak. So getting all spastic over the info and calling it USELESS just makes your self look bad, turd...haha
And yes it does depend on the driver, but this can give you a ballpark potential for having a close race.

 

I've plenty of real world experience to argue that the data, though empirical, is not relevant in most cases.

It is interesting data, but you'd be surprised as to what results in real life scenarios. And, the RX8 is a slow car by the way- not worth your while to race in a straight line.
