100 octane gas

I am taking a trip to Virginia beach next weekend and I was wondering if a mix tank of 1/4 93 octane and 3/4 100 octane would give me a little extra pep for the drive down. I have searched but I could not find a specific answer to my question. Thanks.

higher octane on an unmodded ecu (or anything for that matter) will not yield more HP.

Mine runs fine on 87 all the way up to 93. Don't waste your hard earned cash.

Agree, don't worry about it. If your car doesn't knock, higher octane won't make a difference. And the car shouldn't knock on pump gas.

Welcome to Va Beach.

remember, this is only for rx8s. judging by your avatar, you probably drive other high performance cars. on CERTAIN cars, esp. hondas, octane DOES matter. i know this is the rx8 forum but on newer piston engines, lower octane gives it real **** poor performance. have a safe and 'ticketless' trip.
