Exclamation 13b MSP-REW possible?

I got this idea today for a 13b MSP-REW hybrid, imagine the rotor housing having the ports on the rew and combining that with the side ports of the msp. If I'm correct, with the help of a crazy custom intake and exhast manifold, this would probably be i great set up for something just as hybrid as a super-turbo charger setup. It would probably take a ton of work, but I just wanted to see what all you other rotary experts thought.

Not worth the trouble.

if you want power, 20b is the way to go.

i think about it every once in a while, myself. aside from the nightmarish custom exhuast manifold (intake shouldn't be too hard to make), it might make for an interesting little experiment.

however, the realist in me agrees with nycgps.

Timing is an important factor in making power as is exhaust gas velocity. You'd have messed up exhaust timing with both peripheral and side ports and you'd have too little exhaust velocity. Pick either a Renesis or a 13B and then stick to it. Don't bother combining parts unless you intend on keeping only one type of exhaust port.

Anything is possible. Your real issue is "Will it be a worthy experiment"

I have seen a rotary engine made to run in reverse around 10 years ago. Marvelled at how quiet it was for such a short exhaust & muffler with its "side exhaust ports!!!". Now the 13B-MSP engine is out. It sounds similar to that engine I heard all those years ago.

Combining the MSP side plates with the REW rotor housing will work as long as you maintain the MSP rotors due to their additional side seal.

As pointed out, the exhaust timing will be out & the gas speed will be down at lower rpm. Hard to say at high rpm. Is a very interesting thought though.......

Actually, you can not run 86-95 rotor housings in the renny. The 86-95 rotaries have the coolant seals in the irons. The renny has the coolant seals in the rotor housing. You'd need to run some 85 and prior 13b rotorhousings, such as 84-5 GSLSE. The issue is that these have pretty restrictive exhaust ports (as far as peripheral exhaust rotaries go) but their timing and velocity is probably more favorable for a renesis anyway. Also, the chrome coating on these housings is not very durable, and is well known for flaking and deteriorating well before 100k miles.
