Hi all was wondering if any one can help.

I have a 231 2003 rx86 speed and I am rebuilding at present my question is some one has offered me a complete 191 engine low miles . Would a straight swap work or would it be a bit more complicated. Just considering as I need new housing rotors and seals for my engine. So its going to cost quite a bit .

Thanks in advance

Thanks I am guessing I will need to swap the ecu since mine had 6 ports and the 191 only 4 . Bar the ecu and intake would that be all I would need to change

Thanks

Given that one of those two things doesn't exist, probably not

I am lost now when you say doesn't exist ..... ok some places refer to the 4 port 5 speed rx8 as 191/192 bhp model and the other being the 6 speed high power renesis that also gets called the 231bhp model . Which one dosnt exist ?

Why would you go from a 6 port 231hp downgrade to 191hp 4 port? I would not do it. Just my opinion.

Take the engine out and tear it down and find out what you need and go from there.

The European model 6 port is 231 bhp (crank hp), US model is 238 bhp.

Not really any need to be so pedantic! 192PS and 231PS are the models available in the UK. As for the swap i would strip the old lump down and see what has failed. Then swap out the bits from the 192 to repair the 231
