2 questions on AC and tires

Ok, so this is the first summer I owned my RX8 and noticed the AC in the car was pretty lacking in the cold department. Actually, it would get cold, then warm, then cold, then warm - like it was on a cycle. Is this normal or come next spring, do I need to get something fixed with the AC unit?

Tires - how fast do your tires wear out on you (based on driving normal - meaning, no roasting of the tires and taking turns at a relatively respectable speed)? I am using the same tires it came with (brand, etc...). When I bought the car, I thought all 4 tires were new, but just recently, 2 of my tires became bald and the other two were rated a 7 out of 10. Yes, I rotate them often...I only ran the car for 6,000 miles with what I thought were 4 new tires.

What is your average amount of miles before new tires? Did I over look 2 of the tires when I bought it?

What year is your car? if its a 04, the previous owner probably never fix the AC Amplifier issue. if u're not in warranty, thats a couple hundred bux to fix.

Or Your AC control **** is brokwn. if u're still in Warranty, go get it fix. if not, you can fix it urself but it takes some soldering skill. See DIY

for tire, it depends on your driving style & road conditions. but generally speaking the stock RE040 wears out FAST. plus its traction is just so-so. get another set.

Search this site more, your questions has been answered like 20 thousand times.

The AC does cycle a lot more then most. I notice it getting warm mostly at stop lights, but once I'm actually moving, the AC is ice cold to the point where my hands go numb.

As for tires, My OEM potenza's lasted 17,000 miles or so when brand new. It's a sports car, so you get sticky tires. Sticky tires don't last very long.

Currently, I'm running Falken RT615's in a 245/40/18. I'm not sure how long they'll last, but I'm hoping it will be at least 20K. Even if they dont, they're still 50 bucks cheaper a tire then the stock potenzas.

It is an 04...I guess I will try and find a more friendly tire next round. I was hoping for at least a 30K mile tire...but I could be smoking cr@ck too!

Any tire that lasts that long is going to ruin the handling of your car. but yeah, you could put a set of $90 econobox tires on it and get 50K miles of them. But then you may as well own an econobox.
