Exclamation 2005 RX8 recall

Just had the thermal recall done on my 05. Took about 2 hours. Mechanic said every thing looked good and this was there first with a racing beat exhaust and rotary performance cat. He said they did 4 8's and all had no heat related issues! Good news to me!

Had the ecu flashed for the first time. Still confused on what flash i am at? Forgot to ask. Work order does not have it. The sticker on the door jamb says campaign #3305G. What flash letter are we at on the 05's? Any one know?

There are several, but one would assume that the dealer did them before delivering the car to you. Ask them. Also, do a search of the forum for "recall" and you will find out more than you really need to know. Most of them will not involve a 2005, however.

I was quoted two to five hours, but I talked the guy into bumping it up and getting it done quick (I'd been awake for 26 hours and had just gotten off of work). I was originally told that it would take a day and I'd get a rental. But there were no rentals, and they don't do courtesy cars.

Know how long it took? 34 minutes to perform the heat recall and inspect the ball joint.

Relax. Cars built later than the 7th July 05 don't need a recall. Do some research on your build date before you jump to conclusions.

How do you find out when your car was built? Also, could someone explin what getting the "flash" means? Is this part of regular maintenance or something you have to ask them to do? I have an 05 I bought in August.

as to the ecm flash with the recall seems some people like to sit still and rev the engine over 8000 rpm hmmmmm well this pcm flash is suppose to limit rpm rev time at a standstill ie: not rolling, to 8 seconds, then it will return to idle even if you have youre foot in it!! that is what was melting the gas tanks, too much heat, no air flow
