2007 starter on 2004

I'm fairly sure the starters should be the same as far as bolting on - but is there any other issue with using a 2007 starter on a 2004??

Do the years interchange? Thanks...

The only thing I'm aware of is the nose cone & mounting difference between the auto and manual transmissions.

Yup - MT vs AT is different. I will probably snag the '07 starter and see how it goes... I want to do this when I swap in the new coils too...

It does fit and work just fine. The swap has been done by a few locals to correct issues with warm starts.

Mazda changed something with the starter motor for 06 and 07 I think it was. Anywho...it helped fix some problems where locals had long cranks on warm starts. Lemmie see if I can locate our video.
