2nd gear grind

ok....fist of all the backround on my car. i bought it wrecked and fixed it up.it has about 43,000 miles on it and have been driving it for a while now. everything is all good when im just driving around town (i.e. no shifts over 3,000) but then when i get on it in first gear and take it all the way to 9,000 and shift it grinds. before everyone starts telling me i need to learn how to drive i have drivin a manual my whole life and this has never happend. and i have also gone over every step of shifting and exagerated it to make sure im not the one messing up. plus it only does it in 2nd gear. so my question is......is the syncro out or could there be another easier problem?? i really dont want to have to replace the syncros so im hoping u guys might know of some little thing that may have happend.

sorry for the long post and thanks for all the help

i have a 3rd gear grinding issue. i haven't read of anyone having any issues w/ 3rd on the forum. so, i'm assuming it may be my own fault. it always grinds at whatever speed i'm driving while the engine is cold. but, after the engine gets thoroughly warmed (really really warm) it completely subsides & shifts like butter. can anyone explain this to me?

I have posted the same complaint! I feel it is a broken Synchronizer. I will let you know when I crack the box open in a few weeks!

Probably synchro but you could try a gear oil swap first.
